I'm shocked by this story
. It sounds like Trump was trying to strong-arm Pence into changing the election results, which is super concerning. I mean, if you're the president, aren't you supposed to play by the rules? It's not cool that he was threatening Pence like that and trying to intimidate him into doing something that went against his oath of office.
I don't get why Trump thought this was a good idea in the first place
. Did he really think he could just bully his way out of losing an election? And what's even more weird is that he tried to change his speech right before Pence was supposed to certify the results, like he wanted to throw him off guard or something.
This whole thing reminds me of a game of power struggles from The Office
. But in reality, it's a serious issue about democracy and the rule of law. I'm glad that Pence stood up for what he believed in, even if Trump was trying to bully him.
