1 year in, Americans call for more inflation focus from Trump, CBS News poll finds

A new year in, many Americans are still waiting for President Trump to tackle a key issue: inflation. As the economy continues to grapple with rising prices, Trump's approval ratings on this front remain lower than expected. Despite his party's optimistic views on his performance, a majority of Americans feel that he has not done enough to address the growing cost of living.

In a recent CBS News poll, Americans were asked about their feelings towards Trump's presidency and economic policies. While most Republicans believe that Trump has exceeded expectations in his first year as president, overall, Americans are less confident. The economy remains a top priority for many, with inflation being the primary concern.

Trump's handling of international issues, on the other hand, tends to garner more attention from Democrats than Republicans. However, when it comes to economic policies and immigration, Trump and Republicans' approaches outpace those of their Democratic counterparts.

Interestingly, the president's overall approval ratings have remained relatively steady throughout his first year in office. Nevertheless, his views on inflation continue to lag behind public expectations.

In a broader context, Americans remain divided about their party's handling of key issues, including immigration and economic policies. While more Democrats believe that their party has the better approach, few share confidence in congressional Democrats' ability to effectively oppose Trump.

The CBS News/YouGov survey provides valuable insights into American attitudes towards Trump's presidency and economic policies. The poll results highlight ongoing concerns about inflation and economic growth, underscoring the need for policymakers to address these pressing issues.

Still waiting on Trump to tackle inflation 💸😐. His approval ratings are okay but when it comes to the economy, many Americans feel he's not doing enough 🤔. Polls show that most people think he should be working harder to bring down prices and create jobs 💼. Not sure if his focus on other issues is helping or hurting the situation 🤷‍♂️.

OMG, can't believe Trump's approval ratings on inflation are still so low 🤯! I mean, come on, it's been a whole year since he took office and we're still waiting for him to tackle this major issue 😕. As someone who's all about productivity (lol, get it? 📈), I think it's crazy that the economy is still struggling with rising prices. We need some real solutions ASAP 💸! It's interesting to see how divided Americans are on their party's handling of economic policies... maybe we should be paying more attention to Congress? 🤔 Anyway, can't wait to see what 2025 brings! 💪

lolol what's up with this guy trump tho? he's been in office for like 2 years and still can't get a grip on inflation lol what's next gonna be when will he fix traffic in NYC?! 🚗😂 Americans are getting wise, btw their approval ratings might be steady but the economy is all messed up and they know it. it's funny how republicans think he's doing great while most ppl think he's not doing enough 🤷‍♂️ meanwhile congress is just a bunch of politicians being politicians... 🤑💸

I think it's pretty clear that Americans are still waiting for Trump to deliver on his promise of tackling inflation 🤔. His approval ratings on this front just aren't there, and it's not like he's been ignoring it either - I mean, the guy has talked about it plenty. The thing is, people can see that inflation is a real problem, especially with rising prices and whatnot. It's not like they're expecting him to solve it overnight or anything.

I think part of the issue is that Trump's views on economics are still pretty murky to some folks - I mean, he's got a lot of supporters who love him for other reasons, but when it comes down to brass tacks, they just don't see how his policies will help with inflation 🤷‍♂️. And then there's the whole thing about Congress not being able to get anything done... that's another major problem right there 👀.

I'm so confused about this whole inflation thing... I just know it affects me when I go shopping or buy stuff online. Like, my rent is already pretty high and now I have to pay more for everything? It doesn't seem fair 🤔. I thought Trump was gonna do something about it but apparently not enough people are happy with that. My friends who support him say he's doing a good job with the economy, but from where I'm standing, prices just keep going up 💸. Can someone explain why this is happening and how we can get inflation under control? 🤷‍♂️
