2026 Oscars: Hear from Michael B. Jordan and other nominated stars of this year's best movies

For the 2026 Oscars, Michael B. Jordan and other A-listers got up close and personal with journalists in a new special, "On The Red Carpet: And the Nominees Are...". Jordan, nominated for his lead role in 'Sinners', shared that when taking on complex characters like twins "Smoke" and "Stack", he tries to inject as much of himself into the performance.

The film, directed by Ryan Coogler, has broken records with 16 total Oscar nominations. This surpasses previous record holders, 'Titanic,' 'La La Land' and 'All About Eve', which each garnered 14 nominations.

Jordan's co-stars, Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo, have also received nods in the same category.

In addition to 'Sinners', 'One Battle After Another' has garnered the second-most nominations this year. The film already won at several award ceremonies including the Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards, and National Board of Review Awards.

Leonardo DiCaprio is up for his sixth career Lead Actor nomination and eighth overall in total. He described the movie as "an original concept," stating that it's about a father trying to reconnect with his daughter.

Other nominees include 'Marty Supreme', 'Frankenstein', 'Sentimental Value', 'Bugonia', 'F1', 'The Secret Agent,' 'Train Dreams', and 'Hamnet'.

Hamnet's Jessie Buckley is now an Oscar nominee for Best Actress, having previously won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award.

The new special also features interviews with Rose Byrne, Stellan Skarsgrd, Wagner Moura, Ethan Hawke, Kate Hudson and many more.

omg can't believe sinners got 16 nominations that's insane! michael b jordan is going to crush it on the red carpet 🀩 he talked about injecting himself into his characters which i love he's not afraid to take risks as an actor πŸ’‘ and that leonardo dicaprio has been nominated like six times? what a legend! πŸ’« i'm also hyped for hamnet's jessie buckley, she won some major awards already πŸ† but seriously have you seen the list of movies this year? it's so diverse and exciting!

I'm low-key hyped about this year's Oscars faves 🀩. It's crazy to see 'Sinners' getting so much love, I mean 16 nominations is wild πŸ’₯. Michael B. Jordan always slays in his roles and I love how he puts a piece of himself into the characters... it makes them feel more real, you know? 😊 I've seen 'One Battle After Another' and while it's not my fave, I can see why it's got so much buzz. And who else but Leo could make an original concept look cool in a trailer 😎? The cast list is huge this year... love seeing Hamnet's Jessie Buckley on there, she was amazing in her Golden Globe win πŸ™Œ

just great, another year of awards seasons drama... πŸ™„ 16 nominations for 'Sinners' is insane, like they're trying to one up the rest 🀯. and michael b jordan just spilling all his method acting secrets on live TV 🎬. i'm sure it's super relatable to watch him talk about injecting himself into a role... meanwhile, leonardo dicaprio is still trying to prove he's not a method actor (just kidding, leo) 😏. and who else but wunmi mosaku and delroy lindo getting nominated? they're like the cool uncle of the oscars πŸŽ‰. can't wait for this red carpet special to air... i'm sure it'll be just as thrilling as watching paint dry πŸ’€

idk why ppl got so hyped about this oscars thing... it's all just another excuse for rich ppl to show off their fancy suits and expensive jewelry πŸ’ƒπŸ». newsflash: the real heroes are the writers and directors who put in real effort to create these masterpieces, not the actors who just get to wear pretty clothes on the red carpet πŸ€΄β€β™‚οΈ.

and can we talk about how overrated this "original concept" thing is? it's just a fancy way of saying "dad tries to connect with his kid". like, yawn... I mean, i'm sure leonardo di caprio is a talented actor and all, but let's not get too carried away here 😴.

πŸŽ₯πŸ’¬ I'm loving how diverse the nominees are this year! Like, it's amazing that Michael B Jordan is up for 'Sinners' πŸ•·οΈ and Leonardo DiCaprio is nominated for his sixth lead role 🀯. And can we talk about Hamnet? Jessie Buckley is giving me major award buzz πŸ˜πŸ†. But what I'm really excited about is the new special on The Red Carpet – it's always so much fun to see the A-listers being their selves πŸ’β€β™€οΈπŸ‘—. And I gotta say, 16 Oscar nominations for 'Sinners' is insane 🀯! Ryan Coogler must be doing something right. I'm also loving that there are so many original concepts up for awards – like 'One Battle After Another' and 'Frankenstein'. It's gonna be an interesting ceremony this year πŸŽ‰πŸ‘€

🀩 I'm so stoked to see 'Sinners' gettin' all this love at the Oscars! Michael B. Jordan's performance as those twin brothers is insane 🀯 and it's great to see him sharing his process with us. 16 nominations is a huge deal, especially breakin' that previous record holder record πŸ”₯. It's also awesome to see some of our fave actors like DiCaprio, Mosaku, and Lindo gettin' nods too πŸ‘. I'm rootin' for 'One Battle After Another' to take home some gold πŸŽ‰. Can't wait to watch all these movies and see who takes home the awards! πŸ’ͺ

Man I'm so hyped for this year's Oscars πŸŽ‰! The fact that 'Sinners' is up for 16 nominations is insane... like it's going to sweep everything! Michael B Jordan's performance is always on point, but playing twins? That's some next-level acting right there. And Ryan Coogler directing again, gotta love the guy.

I'm also loving the nods for Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo - they're such talented actors, I'm so happy to see them getting recognition. And Leo DiCaprio is a legend, it's amazing he's up for his sixth Lead Actor nomination 🀯. The whole lineup of nominees looks super strong this year... can't wait to see who's gonna take home the gold.

I'm loving all these A-listers sharing their stories 🀩. It's so inspiring to see them open up about what drew them to the projects and how much they put of themselves into it. I gotta say, Michael B Jordan seems like a really down-to-earth guy - I love that he talks about trying to bring his own experiences into roles like that πŸ’. And wow, 16 nominations is crazy! I'm rooting for 'One Battle After Another' (have you seen it?) and 'Sinners', can't wait to see what the Oscars bring πŸŽ₯πŸ‘

I'm so excited to see all these talented actors getting recognized πŸŽ‰! You know what's crazy? I was just talking to my grandkids the other day about how Michael B. Jordan has come a long way since his early days in 'Fruitvale Station'. And now, he's up for not one, but two Oscars 🀯! It's amazing to see him share his experiences and insights on that red carpet special – it's like you can feel the passion and dedication he puts into every role.

I also love that Ryan Coogler is behind 'Sinners' – what a master filmmaker πŸ’₯! And 16 Oscar nominations? Wow, that's just incredible. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all these talented folks to take home the gold πŸ†!

Ugh, can we talk about how ridiculous it is that they're making us watch these A-list interviews on the red carpet? I mean, I'm excited for the Oscars and all, but do we really need to see every single nominee's face for like 10 minutes straight? It's just so... excessive. And have you seen the amount of times Michael B. Jordan had to say "I'm nominated for my lead role in 'Sinners'"? Like, dude, I get it, you're excited, but do we really need a whole segment dedicated to that? πŸ™„πŸ˜’ Can't they just let us focus on the actual awards instead? And another thing, why do they have to go and make all these special segments that are like an hour long? It's like they're trying to suck every last drop of entertainment value out of this event. Can we just stick to the main ceremony already? πŸ€―πŸ‘Ž

man, have you ever stopped to think about how we as a society, like, obsess over these award ceremonies? the Oscars are basically just a highlight reel of the elite, but what does it really say about us that we're so drawn to this spectacle? is it because we're trying to validate our own worth by seeing others get recognition?

and michael b. jordan's comment about injecting himself into his character is interesting... like, do we think that's a good thing or a bad thing? are we using our own experiences and emotions to bring depth to someone else's story, or are we just projecting ourselves onto them? πŸ€”

I gotta say, this Oscars season is getting crazy 🀯. 16 nominations for 'Sinners' is a big deal, but you gotta wonder if it's because of who Ryan Coogler is working with - I mean, have we seen his track record on 'Creed' and 'Black Panther'? He knows how to bring the heat πŸ”₯. And with Michael B. Jordan at the helm, it's hard not to see this as a big win for him personally 🀝. But what about the other nominees? Is 'One Battle After Another' just trying to keep up with 'Sinners', or is there something more going on here? I think we need to look deeper into who funded these films and how that affects the outcome... it's all about the Benjamins, folks πŸ’Έ.
