Ivory Coast Powers Past Burkina Faso to Set Up Africa Cup of Nations Clash with Egypt
The defending champions, Côte d'Ivoire, have continued their impressive form in the Morocco 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a convincing 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso. The Ivorians dominated the contest, with Amad Diallo scoring one goal and creating another as they eased past their opponents.
The match got off to a promising start for Côte d'Ivoire, who took the lead in the 20th minute thanks to a superb solo effort from Diallo. The Ivorian winger danced his way past three defenders before a fortunate deflection allowed him to lift the ball over the goalkeeper and into the roof of the net.
Burkina Faso were inches away from pulling a goal back when Dango Ouattara's shot from a tight angle hit a post, but it proved a rare bright moment for the Burkinabé side. The Ivorians kept pushing forward and Touré broke free on the left-hand side of the box as full time loomed. With Koffi perhaps expecting a cross, the teenage winger instead slotted in at the near post for his second of the campaign.
The match was essentially decided by halftime, but Algeria's last-gasp winner had just changed the script. Just as the game was headed to a penalty shootout, Adil Boulbina cut in off the left wing before unleashing a dipping shot that flew in, clipping the underside of the crossbar on the way.
Côte d'Ivoire will now face Egypt in their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in Agadir on Saturday. The two teams have met before, with Egypt winning 1-0 in extra time in the 2006 decider.

Just watched that Côte d'Ivoire vs Burkina Faso match and I'm loving Amad Diallo's skills! 
He's like a one-man show out there on the field, dodging defenders left and right. The Ivorians were so dominant, it was almost unfair to Burkina Faso
