Anatomical exhibition includes rare Victorian-era drawing of a black body

omg u no how hard it is 2 imagine ppl wut back then havin this kinda art on display 🤯 they were already tryna push boundaries w/ anat & art & now dey gotta deal w/ racism & prejudice lol idk wht's more wild, tht dey left out the black man's body or dat dey had 2 b racist 2 get it 2 da US 🤷‍♀️ like joseph maclise was literally tryna break down barriers w/ his art & ppl still didnt see him 👀

🙏 I think its so cool that they're finally gonna display this rare drawing! Its crazy to think that back then, people were already trying to break the mold with how they depicted bodies, especially black ones 🤯. Maclise was like a true trailblazer in his time, and it's awesome that we get to see his work now. The fact that he focused on small details like scars and ear piercings is just amazing 💯. It shows us that even back then, art wasn't just about the surface level, but also about telling a story and showing humanity 📚💕
