As Manchester City advance, should Eddie Howe be under pressure? | Football Weekly Extra – video

Pressure is mounting on Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe as his team continues to falter in the Premier League. With Manchester City closing in on the title, questions are being raised about whether Howe should be under pressure himself.

Newcastle's struggles have been well-documented this season, and with their current form, it's fair to say they're struggling to stay afloat in mid-table. The Magpies' lack of consistency has led to criticism from fans and pundits alike, with some calling for change at the helm.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are making their push for the league title. Pep Guardiola's team is on fire, racking up win after win without showing any signs of fatigue. They're a force to be reckoned with, and it's hard not to wonder if Howe's team can keep pace.

One could argue that both teams are under pressure in different ways. Manchester City have the weight of expectation on their shoulders as the favorites for the title. Newcastle, on the other hand, face a steeper challenge in terms of trying to escape relegation.

Howe's job security should not be called into question solely based on his team's performance. However, with Newcastle struggling and their future in the top flight hanging in the balance, it's natural to wonder if he has what it takes to steer the team back on track.

Ultimately, Howe's fate will depend on how well his team performs over the course of the season. If Newcastle can turn things around and start winning consistently, it's likely that pressure on his job will subside. But until then, questions about his leadership will continue to linger.

I'm like, totally not sure what to think about Eddie Howe's job security right now 🤔😬. The guy's been under a ton of pressure already, and it's gonna be tough for him to turn things around at Newcastle. I mean, Manchester City is just killing it this season 🔥🏆! They're the team to beat, and it's hard to see how Howe can keep pace with them. But you know what? I think Howe deserves a break 🤞. He's been doing a solid job as a manager, even if his team isn't firing on all cylinders 💪🏽. Let's just say he needs some time to get it together and figure out what's going wrong at St. James' Park 🔍💡. Pressure's too high already 🚨! #EddieHowe #NewcastleUnited #PremierLeague

🤔 I feel bad for Eddie Howe, you know? He's like that teacher in 'Dead Poets Society' - inspiring his team to be their best selves. But at the same time, as a fan, it's hard not to get frustrated when your team isn't performing well. It's like, we love you, Eddie! We believe in you! 😊

And can you imagine being in Pep Guardiola's shoes? He's like the 'Matrix' master - always one step ahead of the game. Manchester City is on fire, and it's hard to see anyone stopping them now. But, hey, that's what makes football so exciting, right?

Newcastle's situation is tough, though. It's like they're stuck in a 'Groundhog Day' loop - same old problems, same old struggles. You feel for the fans, who are just trying to enjoy the game without worrying about their team's future.

Let's hope Eddie Howe can turn things around and lead his team to victory! 🏆💪

😕 I feel bad for Eddie Howe, he's putting in so much effort but his team just can't seem to get its act together... Like, Manchester City is on fire right now and you can't help but wonder if Newcastle has what it takes to keep up 🔥. It's not fair to put all the pressure on one person, especially when they're already facing a tough situation like relegation 😬. But at the same time, I get why fans and pundits are questioning his leadership... Maybe he just needs some fresh blood or a change in strategy? 🤔 One thing's for sure, Newcastle needs to turn it around ASAP! ⏰

idk why people are putting so much pressure on eddie howe 🤷‍♂️. like, he's already doing a pretty good job managing newcastle, but the team is just having an off year 💔. it's not like they're getting destroyed or anything. they still have their moments and some decent wins under their belt ⚽️.

and meanwhile, manchester city are on fire 🔥. pep guardiola is a genius or something 😂. i mean, can't we just focus on one team's success for once? it's not like newcastle are trying to ruin the league title 🙅‍♂️.

but at the same time, eddie howe does need to step up his game 💪. if newcastle want to stay in the top flight, they need to start winning more consistently ⏰. so yeah, there's pressure on him, but it's not like he's the only one who can turn things around 🤔.

you know what's wild man? i was just thinking about how much i love my cat's hairballs the other day 🤯 they're like little furry balls of fluff and i'm over here trying not to think about them all day... anyway back to newcastle, have you ever noticed how weird it is when your favorite team is on a losing streak? it's like everyone around you starts being super negative and critical but then as soon as they start winning again, everyone becomes a massive fan 🙌 or in eddie howe's case, people are questioning his job security... maybe he just needs to give himself a haircut lol

🤔 I mean, think about it... if the pressure's mounting on Eddie Howe just because of Manchester City's dominance, doesn't that sound like a classic case of the "rich get richer" scenario? Meanwhile, Newcastle fans are dealing with the stress of potentially facing relegation - now that's a real-life crisis. 😬 It's all about perspective, folks! You can't compare apples and oranges when it comes to expectations and pressure. The Premier League has always been about power struggles between top-tier teams... and right now, Manchester City is flexing their muscles. Meanwhile, Newcastle needs to dig deep and find that elusive consistency if they want to stay afloat. But hey, at least we can agree that football fandoms are all about passion - and sometimes that means scrutinizing our beloved managers under intense scrutiny! 💬

Come on, how can u blame eddie howe when newcastle is goin through hell? 1 point in 7 games is a joke! 🤦‍♂️ they gotta sort out their defense and get some decent signings. but yeah, manchester city is lookin fierce right now, cant wait to see if pep can keep it up all season. think eddie howe needs a bit of breathing room tho, cant have him gettin sacked on the fly 🙅‍♂️

I'm surprised anyone needs reminding that Manchester City are actually good at football 🤯 I mean, who doesn't love a team that just steamrolls over everyone else? Meanwhile, Newcastle's struggles are just so... relatable? I guess it's not like they've been in this position before or anything. 😒 Still, you can't blame fans for wanting someone to take the reins and get things back on track at St. James' Park. And honestly, who wouldn't want to be Eddie Howe and deal with all that pressure? It sounds like a dream come true 🙄

I think the pressure on Eddie Howe is unfair, tbh 🤔... people forget he took over a team that was in complete shambles 😂 and has been working magic ever since. Newcastle's struggles this season are definitely a concern, but have fans given him enough time to turn it around? I don't think so ⏰. Meanwhile, Manchester City is just on fire 🔥... can anyone really stop them now? 🤷‍♂️

I think its pretty tough for Howe right now 🤔. I mean, the team's form has been all over the place and they're not just struggling to stay up, they're actually giving some of their rivals a run for their money. You can't just sit there and expect your team to magically turn it around overnight.

I feel bad for the fans, they've been loyal and patient with Howe and his team, but things need to start looking up soon or else the doubts will be justified 😩. And yeah, Manchester City are a force to be reckoned with, they're playing some of the best football in the league right now.

But at the same time, you can't just dismiss howe's job security without considering his performance over the past few years 🙏. He's had some ups and downs, but he's also shown some great qualities as a manager. I think its all about seeing what the rest of the season brings and if Newcastle can turn it around.

It's not just about whether Howe should be under pressure or not, its about keeping the team in the top flight and competing with the best teams 💪. If that happens, then the pressure on his job subsides and he gets the credit he deserves 🙌

come on eddie howe dont be too hard on himself lol 🤷‍♂️ he's been doing a great job with the team given the circumstances they're facing. sure its not ideal having newcastle struggling but we gotta give em some credit for trying and fighting till the end of the season 🌟 plus pep guardiola is just ridiculously good at his job 🙏 its almost unfair to compare him to eddie howe in terms of experience and squad depth but like, that be said em sure eddie can learn from pep and bring back some strategies to get newcastle back on track 💡

I feel bad for Eddie Howe, he's just trying his best but Newcastle's form is really not helping him out 🤔. I mean, we've all been in situations where our school teams aren't doing well and it's frustrating, but at least we can try new strategies or make changes to the team. It sounds like Newcastle's struggles are pretty deep-seated so maybe Howe just needs some time and support from the club 🤗. And yeah, Manchester City are on fire right now, it's crazy how quickly they're winning! But pressure should be focused on the team, not just one person, you know? The players, the coaches, everyone has a role to play in turning things around 💪.

I think eddie howe is getting a bad rap 🤔, people need to remember he took over at newcastle when the team was already in shambles 🌪️, it's not all on him 😩. and yeah, manchester city are on fire 🔥, but that's what makes them so good, they're a well-oiled machine 💨. Newcastle needs to get their act together ASAP ⏱️, if they don't, they'll be down in the championship 🏆. i think eddie howe has done ok so far 👍, he just needs to make some tweaks to his team and get them firing on all cylinders 🔩
