Attempted sexual assaults in Logan Square prompt community alert

Two women in Logan Square narrowly escaped what could have been deadly attacks after being subjected to attempted sexual assaults in the early morning hours of Friday.

According to police, one incident took place around 2:32 a.m. at the 2600 block of North Sawyer Avenue, where a man approached from behind and physically battered the victim with his hands before restraining her using verbal threats and physical force. The second attack occurred shortly after, at 3:23 a.m., in the 3100 block of West Schubert Avenue.

In both instances, the victims managed to break free when nearby residents heard their screams for help and rushed to their aid, causing the perpetrator to flee on foot.

Police have released a description of the suspect, who is said to be wearing dark gray jeans with a gray hooded sweatshirt featuring green and black designs at the bottom. He also donned a gray or black ski mask and stood between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 105-160 pounds.

Residents are being warned to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. If you have information about either incident, you can contact Area Five Detectives at (312) 746-6554 or submit an anonymous tip through CPDTIP.com with reference numbers RD# JJ498163 or JJ498195.

Ugh this is so messed up ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿšจ! Can't believe people think it's okay to just do that to others like that . Thankfully those women were able to escape and the neighbors stepped in to help, but it could've been so much worse ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ฑ. What's wrong with guys these days? Don't they have any respect for anyone? And what's with the mask? Trying to hide who he is or just plain cowardly? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ Either way, hope that guy gets caught and faces some serious consequences ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ. We need more people looking out for each other in this city! ๐Ÿ‘ซ

ugh man this is crazy those women were so lucky to get away from him i was walking home last night around the same time and I saw like a guy lurking around one of the buildings in Logan Square he had his hoodie up but I could see his face it looked pretty suspicious then again maybe I'm just being paranoid ๐Ÿค” anyway seriously though police should be able to catch this guy by now i mean they have all these new tech tools that can help track people down

anyway back to the first incident I was talking about how scary it must've been for those women to get attacked from behind like what if they couldn't hear anyone coming or anything so that's why it's good that nearby residents heard their screams and were able to rush over and help them out. And yeah, 2:32 a.m is super early morning hours so like who even goes out around that time? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

omg ๐Ÿคฏ this is so disturbing ๐Ÿ˜ฑ i feel like our city needs to do more to ensure safety for everyone, especially at night ๐ŸŒƒ it's crazy that the suspect got away and we don't know who he is yet ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ

i've been thinking about how we can improve security in Logan Square, and one idea could be to increase streetlight visibility at night ๐Ÿ’ก maybe even add some motion-sensing lights or security cameras ๐Ÿ“บ it would also be helpful to have more foot patrols by police officers during nighttime hours ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ

anyway, i just hope the victims are okay and that this incident doesn't make them feel scared or anxious about going out at night ๐Ÿ˜”

This is totally unacceptable what happened in Logan Square ๐Ÿ˜ก. These women were lucky to have escaped with their lives and it's a miracle they made it out without any serious injuries. I'm so frustrated that these men think they can just go around doing this stuff without getting caught ๐Ÿคฌ. The fact that the victims had to scream for help for someone to come and save them is just heartbreaking โค๏ธ. It makes me wanna ask, what's wrong with people in this city? Is it a lack of respect or something deeper? Anyway, I hope these men get caught ASAP and face the consequences of their actions ๐Ÿคž. The police need to do everything they can to keep our communities safe, especially at night when people are most vulnerable.

๐Ÿ˜• You know what's crazy? These two women almost lost their lives and yet they were lucky to have people around who cared enough to come to their aid in a split second. It's a harsh reminder that our safety is only as good as the people around us. So, let this be a lesson to all of us โ€“ we should always be on the lookout for each other! Whether it's a stranger becoming a hero or just a friend checking in on you, community and support are what can truly make all the difference. We gotta look out for one another, folks! ๐Ÿค

Man, that's super scary what happened in Logan Square last night ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’” Those girls were lucky to get away from whoever did that to them. I hope they're okay and getting the support they need after such a traumatic experience ๐Ÿ˜Š. It's crazy how quickly things turned around when people heard their screams for help - it just goes to show how strong our community is ๐Ÿ’•. As for the suspect, it's good that police are releasing his description so we can all keep an eye out for him ๐Ÿ‘€. Let's all hope he gets caught and doesn't hurt anyone else ๐Ÿคž.

Ugh, my heart is literally racing just thinking about this ๐Ÿ˜ฑ these women were almost victims of such heinous crimes and got away because some kind neighbors came to their rescue ๐Ÿ™ its so scary that people in Chicago are having to deal with this stuff especially at night when you least expect it. I do hope the police catch the person who did this ASAP, 5'9-10 is like a pretty normal height range but still weird that theyre using ski masks and all these random clothes ๐Ÿ˜’

Ugh, this is so messed up! ๐Ÿค• I just saw the news and I'm still trying to process it... Two women in one night?! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ It's like the universe is telling us we gotta be extra aware of our surroundings right now.

So yeah, let me draw a quick sketch of what's been happening:
```
+---------------+
| Attempted |
I mean, seriously though, how many times do we have to see this before something changes? We need more support for these women and for everyone who's been affected by crime. Let's all try to look out for each other, 'kay? ๐Ÿค—
Ugh, this is so crazy!!! I mean, I've seen some weird stuff on the news before but this is just wild ๐Ÿคฏ. Two women barely escaped being assaulted in their own neighborhood and it's just... what even is that? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ And to make matters worse, there are still people out there who think they can do this kind of thing and get away with it. I swear, some guys have no respect for human life whatsoever ๐Ÿค•.
I'm so glad the residents who heard them screaming managed to chase the guy down and put a stop to it before something even more terrible happened. And now we're being told to be on the lookout for this sketchy dude in dark gray clothes... I hope he gets caught ASAP, my nerves are still frayed just thinking about it ๐Ÿ˜….
๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Can't believe these two women were almost taken advantage of like that ๐Ÿคฏ. I'm just glad the neighbors heard them screaming and came to their rescue ๐Ÿ’ช. It's a reminder that we all need to be looking out for each other, especially at night when it can get sketchy. ๐Ÿ˜’ Those who commit crimes like this are so selfish and inconsiderate... they have no idea what kind of impact they're having on the people around them ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. The fact that the police released a description of the suspect is helpful, but I hope we catch him soon โฐ. Safety should always be our top priority! ๐Ÿ’•
Omg what a nightmare ๐Ÿ˜ฑ those women are so lucky to have been saved by the neighbors!!! I mean, can you even imagine if they hadn't been heard in time? ๐Ÿ™ it's just horrific that someone would do this to others and get away with it... police need to step up their game ASAP! ๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ also seriously what kind of person wears a ski mask in broad daylight?!? ๐Ÿ˜’ anyway, I'm glad the victims are safe and sound ๐Ÿ’•
Ugh, I'm so glad those women were able to escape that nightmare ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. Can you even imagine being mugged like that in the middle of the night? It's just not right, and it makes me super anxious thinking about it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Anyway, I think the fact that they were saved by nearby residents is a great reminder of our community's importance ๐Ÿค. We need to look out for each other and support one another, especially in times like these โค๏ธ. Also, I'm all about self-defense classes - it's always better to be safe than sorry ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ. Have you guys considered taking any courses? Maybe it'll give you some peace of mind ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธ.
Ugh, another night in Chicago where someone thinks it's okay to try and assault people just because they're alone ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒƒ. I mean, what's wrong with these guys? Can't even walk down the street without getting all aggressive. And good on those women who fought back when their lives were literally being threatened ๐Ÿ’ช. But seriously, where are the cameras around here?! It's like the city is just leaving people to fend for themselves in the dark ๐Ÿ“ธ๐ŸŒƒ. I'm not asking for much, just some basic safety measures would be nice ๐Ÿ˜’. And what's with the ski mask, can't even tell who he is? Not exactly a clever disguise ๐Ÿคฃ. Anyway, kudos to the residents who jumped into action and saved those women ๐Ÿ‘. Now let's hope our cops catch this guy and make him pay for his sick behavior ๐Ÿ’ฏ.
๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿšจ this is so scary for those women, I'm really worried about their safety ๐Ÿค• and how they were able to escape from these attackers is just amazing ๐Ÿ’ช. The fact that nearby residents heard them screaming and came to help is a huge reminder of the power of community ๐Ÿ‘ซ and looking out for each other. We need to make sure everyone knows what's going on here and report any suspicious activity to the cops ๐Ÿš” so we can keep these women (and anyone else) safe ๐Ÿ’•.
I'm really concerned about these recent attacks in Logan Square ๐Ÿค•. It's absolutely terrifying to think that someone could be walking around and potentially harming people, especially women, without consequence. The fact that the victims managed to escape because of some good Samaritans nearby is just a reminder of how quickly things can escalate into something much more serious.
I think this incident highlights the importance of community awareness and looking out for one another ๐Ÿค. We need to make sure that everyone feels safe in our neighborhoods, and if we see or hear anything suspicious, we should definitely report it to the authorities. It's also a good reminder to always be mindful of our surroundings, especially at night when it's darker.
The police are doing their part by releasing descriptions of the suspect and warning residents to stay vigilant ๐Ÿšจ. I hope they catch the perpetrator soon and bring them to justice. We need to support the victims and make sure that this kind of thing doesn't happen again in our community โค๏ธ.
๐Ÿ˜” My heart is literally breaking for these two women who went through this terrifying experience. The fact that they were nearly silenced by the perpetrator's physical and verbal abuse makes me so angry. But what hurts even more is thinking about how scared they must have been, not knowing if they'd be rescued in time.
I'm trying to stay positive though. I keep thinking about those brave neighbors who risked their own safety to save these women - that's the kind of community spirit we should all strive for! ๐Ÿ™Œ They're the real heroes here. And to the police, I just want to say thank you for taking these incidents seriously and releasing information to help catch the person responsible.
It's so frustrating that this still happens in our city. We need more support systems in place for victims of assault, but also we need more awareness about consent and respect for others' boundaries. Let's all look out for each other and make sure everyone feels safe! ๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ˜• this is so scary what's going on in Logan Square right now ๐Ÿคฏ these women were literally inches from being seriously hurt and it's only because some good Samaritans heard them screaming that the perps took off on foot 5ft9-10 is a pretty small stature for someone trying to intimidate ppl i hope the police catch this guy ASAP so others don't have to go through what those two did ๐Ÿ’” they deserve all the support and help in the world ๐Ÿค—
๐Ÿ˜ž This senseless violence in Logan Square is just heartbreaking โ€“ two women who could have easily lost their lives to these brutal attacks were somehow spared thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of those nearby residents who intervened. The fact that both victims managed to escape unharmed is a testament to the resilience and strength of our community, but it's also a stark reminder of the very real dangers that many women face on a daily basis.
It's disheartening to see people resorting to such heinous acts of violence, especially in areas where one would expect to feel safe. The description of the suspect doesn't particularly send shivers down my spine โ€“ it's more about the fact that we're still grappling with this issue and need to continue working towards creating a culture of respect and empathy. ๐Ÿ™
