Local Man Charged with First-Degree Murder of Ex-Wife in Oswego Home Invasion

A 44-year-old man from Aurora has been charged with first-degree murder and multiple other felony counts in connection with the fatal stabbing of his ex-wife at her home in Oswego. According to police, Ryan Dodd allegedly broke into his ex-wife's residence on January 27th, claiming he saw video footage of another man entering her house and believed she was in danger.

However, it has now been revealed that the actual motive behind the incident was much more sinister. Upon entering the home, Dodd allegedly attacked Ashley Stewart with a knife, resulting in multiple sharp force injuries that ultimately led to her death.

The police department confirmed that Dodd is facing charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, armed violence, residential burglary, and aggravated stalking. The crime has sent shockwaves through the community, with many expressing outrage and sympathy for the victim's family.
