I don’t usually comment but… I feel bad for Clemens and Bonds. They've been playing the game for so long and it's a shame that their careers are being judged by something that happened outside of the diamond . I mean, we all know some players took steroids back in the day, but does that really disqualify them from being great players? I think it's great that Kent is getting recognized for his achievements on the field, though! He's definitely a deserving candidate . The new rules at the Hall of Fame are kinda harsh, though. It feels like they're trying to make it too easy for voters to dismiss candidates who might have been worthy players .
idk, like i think it's kinda harsh on clemens and bonds. they're still legends in my eyes but at the same time, i get why the hall of fame wants to be more transparent about their past transgressions... or whatever you wanna call 'em . kent being inducted is cool tho, he played some great ball and owning up to his mistakes shows some character . but clemens and bonds are still super talented guys who deserve some love, even if they're not 100% clean
The way they're treating Clemens and Bonds now is really harsh... I mean I get it about the steroid thing but come on 66% is still a huge percentage! And what's with the new rules? I don't think they needed to make it so hard for players to get in. Jeff Kent's case is a good example of how some players can redeem themselves after making mistakes, but then again Clemens and Bonds have always been a bit of a controversy...
I'm not surprised that Clemens and Bonds got the axe . I mean, they've been dodging allegations about steroids for years, and it's just a matter of time before their names are tainted forever . The new rules might be an attempt to clean up the game, but it's also kinda like a death sentence – all or nothing. I'm not sure if Kent deserves his induction spot just yet . He did have some good moments on the field, but let's not forget he was part of that infamous Giants team with Bonds . Can't we give players a second chance? Or are we just gonna keep judging them based on their past mistakes?
