Box Office: ‘Zootopia 2’ Leads the Pack With $38.5 Million on Black Friday

I don't usually comment but... I'm kinda surprised that Zootopia 2 is doing so well, especially considering how quickly Moana 2 got to $225 million during Thanksgiving week . I mean, it's not like the story isn't engaging or anything (the return of Judy and Nick sounds pretty cool), but sometimes I feel like these Disney sequels just coast on the back of their original films' success . And don't get me wrong, $97.7 million in 5 days is still a decent chunk of change . Maybe it's the nostalgia factor or something?

I'm not surprised that Disney's Zootopia 2 is killing it at the box office , but $38.5 million from just 4,000 theaters? That's a lot of moolah ! I'm not convinced they'll reach those predicted earnings above $150 million, though. It's gonna be tough to compete with Moana 2, and that musical sequel Wicked: For Good is still bringing in some serious cash . Eternity and Rental Family just don't seem like the most promising films... I guess we'll have to wait and see how they hold up

I'm loving how strong the animation scene is right now ! I mean, $38.5 million on Black Friday? That's insane for an animated sequel! Zootopia 2 has such a great storyline and it's awesome that they're bringing back our favorite characters from the first film . And let's be real, who doesn't love a good mystery to solve? The fact that it's already made so much money in just five days is crazy . I'm predicting big things for this movie, especially with those predictions of over $150 million earnings !
