Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 review – hallucinogenic romp through dystopia is stupidly pleasurable

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Review - A Dystopian Delight

In an era where "live service" games are dominating the scene, it's refreshing to see a new Call of Duty title arrive with all guns blazing. Black Ops 7 is the latest installment in the popular franchise, and while its annual release might seem old-fashioned, this game delivers on its promise of non-stop military mayhem.

Set in a dystopian 2035, where a powerful arms manufacturer known as the Guild claims to be the only solution to an apocalyptic new terrorist threat, Black Ops 7 is a paranoid and conspiracy-obsessed game that will appeal to fans of 70s thrillers like The Parallax View and The China Syndrome. The campaign mode is a wild ride, taking players through socio-political talking points such as psychopathic corporations, hybrid warfare, robotics, and tech oligarchies.

The campaign's over-the-top action sequences are made even more enjoyable by the introduction of advanced weaponry, cool gadgets, and plenty of banter between teammates. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, especially those who prefer a more realistic gaming experience, the chaotic and relentless gameplay is undeniably stupidly pleasurable.

One of the standout features of Black Ops 7 is its co-op multiplayer mode. The traditional Call of Duty experience has been updated with fresh modes, guns, and gadgets, making for an exciting online experience that's perfect for fans of the series. A new wall-jumping ability adds a thrilling layer to map design, allowing players to find new routes around complex architecture.

For those who enjoy Zombies mode, Black Ops 7 delivers once again with a round-based structure and plenty of new features, including the ability to drive trucks while blasting zombies off the bonnet. This makes for a truly unique gaming experience that's sure to appeal to fans of this popular co-op mode.

In addition to the usual Call of Duty fare, there's Dead Ops Arcade 4 - a self-contained top-down twin-stick shooter that's been hidden within the main game since its original release in Black Ops III. This classic-style shooter is perfect for old-school gamers and newcomers alike, offering a fun experience with mini-games that showcase other genres such as racing and scrolling shooters.

With the addition of battle royale mode Warzone, Call of Duty fans are treated to an exhaustive package that caters to all tastes. Whether you're blasting robots in corporate labs or playing Super Sprint -style racing games, Black Ops 7 delivers on its promise of thrilling entertainment.

If you're a fan of the series or simply looking for a game that knows how to put on a show, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is well worth checking out. With its maximalist approach to video game design, it's clear that Activision has not held back when it comes to delivering an unforgettable gaming experience.

Pricing starts at £69.99, and with all the content included, this might just be the best value proposition in recent Call of Duty history.

I'm so stoked about Black Ops 7!!! 🤩 I mean, who doesn't love a good dystopian thrill ride, right? The campaign is like something out of a paranoid thriller film, all conspiracy-theories and high-octane action. And the co-op multiplayer mode is absolute madness - I've had some epic gaming sessions with my mates playing together 🤜🤛.

But what really gets me excited is the Zombies mode - driving trucks around blasting zombies? Genius! 😂 It's like they took all the best bits of the series and mashed them together into one epic game. And don't even get me started on Dead Ops Arcade 4, it's like a retro gaming dream come true 🎮.

The price is pretty reasonable too, £69.99 is a bit steep, but you get an absolute ton of content with this game, so it feels worth the investment 💸. Overall, I'd say Black Ops 7 is a must-play for fans of the series or anyone who loves a good gaming challenge 🎮💥

Ugh, I'm still trying to process how massive Black Ops 7 is 😩. I mean, I get it, more Call of Duty means more fun for some people, but honestly, can't we have a break from the annual release cycle already? It's like they're trying to make up for lost time with all these new modes and features 🤯. And don't even get me started on how bloated the game is - 69.99 quid feels like a lot to ask for, especially when you consider the cost of living situation right now 💸.

I do have to give props though, the campaign mode is straight fire 🔥 and I love the little Easter eggs they snuck in there. The co-op multiplayer is also a lot of fun, but can we please just get rid of some of these microtransactions already? 🤑 It's like they're trying to nickel and dime us out of our hard-earned cash.

And what's up with all these games hiding mini-games behind menus? Dead Ops Arcade 4 was cool at first, but now it feels like a relic from the past 🤪. Warzone is just more of the same old battle royale nonsense, but I guess if you're into that sorta thing... 🙄

Ugh I love how they've managed to cram so much into this game 🤯 But can we talk about the forum for a sec? The comments are literally impossible to navigate... like who thought it was a good idea to have so many threads crammed into one page? 😩 It's like they're trying to drive us all crazy. I swear every time I try to post something, I'm stuck scrolling through a million other people's rants about the game... can we please just simplify the layout or something? 🤷‍♂️

The gaming industry is basically a microcosm of our society - everyone wants something for free, but nobody's willing to pay for it! The way Activision is releasing new games annually, I'm starting to think that's like our politicians just churning out new policies without any consideration for the cost. And the "live service" model? Sounds a bit like some of these politicians' promises to "free" us from our troubles.

But seriously, the fact that they're including so much content in this game, especially with the addition of battle royale mode Warzone, is like a classic example of how trickle-down economics works - the top tier gets all the goodies, and everyone else just has to scramble for scraps. Still, if you're gonna spend £69.99 on this thing, I guess it's better than some of these politicians' promises that just end up costing us more in the long run 🤑

🤔 so i was thinking about how crazy the storyline is in black ops 7 🤯 it's like they took every conspiracy theory from the past few years and mashed them together into one game 😂 but for real though, the gameplay is so much fun, especially with all the new co-op multiplayer modes 💪 and zombies mode is still going strong, i loved driving trucks while killing zombies 🚗💀 what's even better is that they included dead ops arcade 4, it's like a mini-game hidden in there 😎 but my only concern is that some people might find the game too over-the-top or crazy 😅 maybe they'll just get lost in all the action 🤹‍♂️

Its like they took every crazy, over-the-top thing from a 70s thriller and mashed them into one game lol 🤯. The campaign's so paranoid it makes you wanna question everything. But, for real tho, who doesn't love some high-octane action with advanced gadgets and awesome banter between teammates? The co-op multiplayer is straight fire 🔥, especially the wall-jumping ability. And Zombies mode... it's like a whole new level of crazy 😂. They really outdid themselves this time around. 69.99 price tag is kinda steep tho, but if you're a fan of the series or just wanna have some fun, its def worth checking out 🎮

I'm so over the whole "dystopian" thing right now 🙄. It's like every game is trying to predict the apocalypse and we're just along for the ride. I mean, can't we have a good old-fashioned spy thriller or something? The campaign mode sounds pretty intense, but it feels like they're hitting all the same notes as every other Call of Duty game...and before that, probably the ones before that too 🤷‍♂️. And don't even get me started on the "maximalist approach" to video game design - more like maximalistic waste of space if you ask me 😂. I do love the sound of co-op multiplayer though, and the new Zombies mode sounds pretty fun. But at £69.99? That's a bit steep for my taste 🤑.

omg i just got a new gaming PC and its so satisfying to play games on my own rig 🤩 i mean call of duty black ops 7 sounds like so much fun especially the co-op multiplayer mode that wall-jumping ability is lit 🔥 do you think its true that there are still people out there playing call of duty on original consoles lol 😂 anyway back to black ops 7 how much does it cost in my country and can i pre-order it yet 🤑
