Craig Gordon: Hearts goalkeeper not pushing for January move to bolster Scotland World Cup hopes

Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon has ruled out a move away from Tynecastle Park this month, despite speculation about a potential loan deal to bolster his chances of starting for Scotland at the World Cup. The 43-year-old has been struggling for starts in the Scottish Premiership, but he's confident that Alexander Schwolow is not as solid as some think.

Gordon, who made only one appearance since returning from a shoulder injury, feels like he needs to be fit and ready to take his place back in the team. "I've been training well," he said. "I feel like I'm one step away from getting an opportunity here."

While there was talk about leaving Hearts on loan this month, Gordon insisted that it's not something that can be ruled out entirely. However, at the moment, he is focused on supporting the team and helping his side secure top spot in the league.

The 43-year-old has been open about how much fun it is to be part of the squad, particularly with their title ambitions on the line. "You get a little bit of jealousy when the boys are walking out there," Gordon said, hinting that he misses being on the pitch with his teammates.

lol what's up with Craig Gordon at 43 lol ๐Ÿคฃ like who thought it was a good idea to let him start for Scotland again? he can barely get a sniff in the Scottish Premiership atm but they're gonna trust him at the World Cup again? ๐Ÿ™„ and now he's saying Schwolow isn't that solid? please, Schwolow is having a better season than Gordon has had in months ๐Ÿ˜‚ meanwhile Gordon thinks he needs to prove himself and help his team get top spot... yeah good luck with that ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

omg u won't believe what craig gordon just said about alex schwolow lol I mean i get it, he wants to be in the team and start for scotland but like 43? still playing in the premier league ๐Ÿคฏ and people think he's not that solid yet? anyway its all about craig being fit and ready to go again ๐Ÿ’ช and yeah we've seen him saying stuff like this before... u know how passionate he is about the team ๐Ÿ”ดโค๏ธ

I think Craig Gordon's decision not to leave Hearts for a loan this month is super reasonable ๐Ÿค”. I mean, the guy's been back from injury and only played once since then, so it makes sense he wants to get fit again before making any big moves. Plus, it's clear he loves being part of the team and helping them out with their title hopes ๐Ÿ’ช. But at 43, you've got to think about what's best for your career too... does a loan spell extend his time in the squad or just give him a temporary boost? ๐Ÿคž

I think Craig Gordon's decision not to leave Hearts this month is music to my ears ๐ŸŽต. The guy's been through some tough times and I'm glad he's staying focused on helping the team get that top spot in the league. He's got a lot of experience under his belt and I trust him to bring that expertise to the pitch. And let's be real, 43 isn't old for a goalkeeper ๐Ÿคฃ - he's still got it! It's great to see players prioritizing the team over their own personal ambitions. Now let's get behind our boys and cheer them on as they chase that title! ๐Ÿ’ช

So Craig Gordon's all good at Hearts right now ๐Ÿ˜Š. I think it's cool he's focusing on getting fit and ready to start again for Scotland at the World Cup. But I'm a bit surprised he's not keen on leaving, considering the loan talk was pretty strong. Maybe he just wants to be part of the squad that wins that league title? It's always awesome when you get to play with your mates, especially when you're all working towards something big! ๐Ÿ’ช

Craig Gordon's decision not to leave Hearts this month is actually pretty awesome! I mean, 43 and still playing in the Scottish Premiership? That's dedication and a love for the game! ๐Ÿคฉ And who knows, maybe he's right about Alexander Schwolow not being as solid as everyone thinks... could be an interesting dynamic. Plus, it's great to see Gordon focusing on helping his team win the league title - that squad chemistry is what matters most! ๐Ÿ˜Š He even admitted to missing being on the pitch with his teammates... I'm sure they're stoked to have him back! ๐Ÿ’ช

Ugh, I'm so done w/ these transfer rumors 4 Craig Gordon!! He's got this, bro! 43 and still slaying the game like a boss ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ’ช. He just needs to get back in shape and show that coach he's got what it takes. I don't trust Schwolow as far as I can throw him ๐Ÿšฎ. And honestly, who wouldn't want to play for Scotland? The guy's been through the wringer w/ injuries but he's still got the fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ in his belly. Let's just support the man and let him do his thing ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Man, I feel like Craig Gordon is so underrated right now ๐Ÿค”. People think he's just some old guy who can't play anymore, but he's still got game ๐Ÿ’ช! He's been training hard and he's confident in himself, which is awesome to see.

And I gotta say, I love how passionate he is about being part of the squad and helping his team win the league. It's all about that title, you know? ๐Ÿ† But at the same time, it's cool to see him prioritize his fitness and make sure he's ready for when he does get a chance to start.

I'm rooting for this guy to prove some people wrong ๐Ÿ˜‚. He's still got what it takes, even if he is 43 years old. And who knows, maybe he'll be the one leading Scotland at the World Cup ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ˜Ž. A guy can dream, right? ๐Ÿ’ญ

I donโ€™t usually comment but... I think Craig Gordon is making a wise decision by focusing on helping Hearts secure top spot in the league ๐Ÿค”. He's been open about how much fun it is to be part of the squad and I get that, I mean who wouldn't want to play with their mates? ๐Ÿ˜Š At 43, he's definitely not getting any younger and I think this experience will help him make a strong push for his starting spot in Scotland. Plus, if he can lead Hearts to promotion, it'll be a great confidence booster for him ๐Ÿ™Œ. I don't know what the future holds for Craig Gordon but for now, it seems like he's doing what's best for himself and that's all anyone can ask for ๐Ÿ˜Š.

lololol what's goin on w/ this craig gordon dude? 1 min hes sayin im done leavin hearts but nxt min u got him talkin about doin a loan deal lol. cant decide if hes all in or just playin w/ the press, anyway, gotta respect the guy for keepin it real & not just hopin on a plane to some other team ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm so stoked for Craig Gordon! 43 and still bringing it like no one's business ๐Ÿคฉ. I mean, people say he's not as solid as Schwolow, but I think that's just because they're jealous of how much fun he has on the pitch ๐Ÿ˜‚. He's been training hard and he's got this team in his sights for the top spot. I love how humble he is about it too - he knows he needs to earn his place back and he's not going to let it slip away. Bring on the rest of the season, Craig! ๐Ÿ’ช

I love Craig Gordon's positive vibes ๐Ÿ’ช! Being 43 and still feeling like you need to prove yourself is actually kind of inspiring. He's not giving up hope and is focusing on getting back in the team instead of worrying about leaving. That's what I call a winner ๐Ÿ†. And let's be real, who wouldn't want to play for Scotland at the World Cup? The guy's got talent and he knows it, so why fix what ain't broke right? ๐Ÿ’•
