I'm so frustrated with this book, you know? It's like Lara Feigel is trying to say that women have made progress, but honestly, I don't see it. She talks about these amazing women who fought for custody and changed the law, but then she just kind of... stops there. Like, what happened next? How do we keep moving forward?

And the thing is, her story feels so... incomplete. It's like she's setting up this narrative and then just dropping it without any real resolution. I mean, I know that progress can be slow, but sometimes you need a little more than just a hopeful vibe to get people excited about change.

I'm not saying the book isn't important or that women haven't made a difference. But come on, where's the follow-up? Where's the momentum? We need to keep pushing for better laws and systems that support families, not just give us a feel-good story to hang onto.

I was just watching this crazy bird documentary the other day , and it got me thinking about how humans are so much like birds when it comes to our relationships and family dynamics. Like, have you ever seen a group of birds working together to raise their chicks? It's like they're showing us what real cooperation looks like . And then there are times when the parents have to leave the nest, but even that can be so stressful for both parties... Anyways, back to this book... I think it's great that it sheds light on these important issues, but yeah, the fact that progress is slow makes me wanna just sit and cry with all the moms who've been through this

Ugh, reading this made me wanna pull my hair out . I mean, can't we just have a system where parents work together for the sake of their kids? It feels like it's always one parent vs the other, and it's exhausting to think about the stress & emotional toll it takes on mums everywhere . And Feigel's optimism at the end feels so... unrealistic . I mean, we've been fighting for centuries and what have we got to show for it? Progress is slow, but it's not like we're not making progress, it's just that there's still so much work to be done .

I feel so tired reading about the struggles of mothers fighting for their kids custody It's like, we've come so far but still got so much work to do . Lara Feigel's book is actually really well-written and I loved learning about all these women who risked everything for their families . But yeah, the ending kinda sucked... it felt like she was trying too hard to be optimistic . Like, we get it, progress is slow, but you can still acknowledge that and still sound hopeful . I do think we need to keep pushing for change though, because this isn't just about mothers' rights, it's about creating a better world for everyone .
