Dreame, a Chinese appliance manufacturer, has unveiled its latest robot vacuum prototype at this year's CES 2026 show in Las Vegas. The Cyber X concept boasts an unsettling yet impressive feature set that sets it apart from other robot vacuums on the market.
The Cyber X is equipped with giant legs featuring rubber treads, allowing it to autonomously climb full-size stairs with relative ease. According to Dreame, these powerful legs can tackle stairs as steep as 42 degrees and navigate both straight and curved staircases with precision. What's more astonishing is that the device can ascend a flight of stairs in an impressive 27 seconds.
While the actual vacuum unit itself appears separate from the climbing apparatus, this separation raises questions about the Cyber X's functionality in terms of cleaning stairs. The design allows for transportability but not necessarily for self-cleaning capabilities.
This robot vacuum boasts additional features such as a built-in water tank and laser-powered navigation system to aid in its stair-climbing abilities, and an advanced braking system that ensures stability on both floors and stairs.
However, Dreame has indicated that the Cyber X is merely a research prototype at this juncture and hasn't ruled out potential production or wider release of similar models in the future.
It's worth noting that Dreame also showcased its latest flagship robot vacuum, the X60 Max Ultra, which boasts improved step-climbing abilities compared to previous models.
