Eagles-49ers Wild Card Round injury report, with analysis

Philadelphia Eagles will face San Francisco 49ers in a crucial Wild Card Round matchup, and both teams appear relatively healthy heading into the contest. The Eagles had their starters rested during Week 18 against Washington Commanders, while the 49ers were on the receiving end of a grueling game against Seattle Seahawks.

The Eagles' injury report lists TE Grant Calcaterra with a knee/ankle issue, which does not appear to be a significant concern at this point. However, iOL Brett Toth is dealing with concussion symptoms and has been ruled out for Week 18. On the other hand, RT Lane Johnson returned to practice after a lengthy absence due to foot injuries.

The Eagles' depth chart looks relatively solid, but the team will face its biggest test of the season against the 49ers. LB Nakobe Dean is expected to play on Sunday despite suffering from a hamstring injury, which might put him under some pressure.

On the other side, the 49ers are missing two key defensive players. LT Trent Williams sat out Week 18 due to a hamstring issue and is uncertain for the game against Philadelphia. WR Ricky Pearsall is also dealing with knee/ankle issues and has been ruled out for Week 18.

The 49ers' defense will have to navigate without Fred Warner, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 6. Eric Kendricks will likely start at linebacker opposite Luke Gifford, who dealt with a quad injury during the regular season.

Defensively, the Niners have been plagued by injuries at various positions throughout the season. Nick Bosa is out for the season due to a torn ACL, and WR Brandon Aiyuk's departure from the team has left a significant void in their receiving corps.

Overall, both teams appear relatively healthy heading into this critical matchup, but injuries and suspensions will likely play a key role in determining the outcome of the game.

I'm thinking the 49ers are gonna have a tough time without Fred Warner and that's gonna be huge for the Eagles 🤔... I mean, Nakobe Dean is playing with an injury too so we'll see how he holds up, but if their defense can contain the 49ers' offense, they might just pull off this one 🏈💪

I'm low-key hyped for this one! The 49ers are looking super scrawny without Trent Williams, you feel? Their o-line is gonna be put to the test against the Eagles' D. And on the flip side, Nakobe Dean's back on the field, which is a big plus for Philly 🤞. But, both teams are dealing with injuries, so it's hard to predict who'll come out on top 💪. The 49ers defense is gonna have to step up and show what they're made of without Fred Warner 👍. Should be a super competitive game, can't wait to see how it all plays out! 😊

Omg I'm getting so hyped for this game 🤩! The Eagles and 49ers are like two evenly matched boxers going to war 💥. Both teams have their share of injuries, but it looks like Philly's depth is gonna be tested big time 😬. Nakobe Dean's hamstring injury might make him a little wonky on the field, but I'm trusting in his skills 🤞.

The 49ers are definitely missing some key pieces, especially LT Trent Williams and WR Ricky Pearsall 🤕. But with their defense looking like it's gonna be super thin without Fred Warner, this game could get ugly 😳. The Niners' injury woes all season have been a major concern, but I'm hoping they can pull through.

I think the real question is who can handle the pressure most on both sides 🤔? Can the Eagles' squad keep their cool under fire, or will they fall apart at the seams 💥? Either way, it's gonna be an epic battle ⚔️.

I gotta say, these 49ers are gonna struggle without Fred Warner... 😕 They got some big holes to fill, especially on defense. I mean, Nick Bosa's ACL injury is huge - he was their best pass rusher all season. And Brandon Aiyuk leaving mid-season was a blow. It's weird that they can't seem to keep their guys healthy. 🤦‍♂️ On the other side, the Eagles look pretty solid, but that hamstring injury from Nakobe Dean might be a concern... he's such a key player for them. Maybe this is what happens when you're playing all year long? I don't know, just hope both teams can get some guys healthy and make it an entertaining game! 🏈

idk about these Eagles... they're lookin pretty solid after restin that last week, but facein the 49ers is like tryin to take on lightnin in a bottle 🤯. Nakobe Dean's hammy injury better be nothin major or it's gonna ruin their game plan. On the other hand, I think the Niners are gettin the short end of the stick with all these injuries... Trent Williams just gotta step up if he wanna play against Philly 🙏. Still, gotta give it to the Eagles, they've got some depth and should be able to hang in there... but no way I'm puttin my money on them yet 😅

I'm still on my 5th watch party for the Eagles vs 49ers match 🏈😅 I was saying earlier, don't count out Grant Calcaterra just yet, he's been through tough situations before and his knee/ankle issue might not be as bad as we think... or so I thought when I watched their Week 18 game against Washington 😊. Then again, Brett Toth being out is a big concern for the Eagles... what if they're too reliant on Lane Johnson to fill in at RT? The Niners' injury woes are real though, losing Fred Warner is huge and I hope Nakobe Dean can handle the pressure with his hamstring injury 🤦‍♂️. This one's gonna be a nail-biter!
