Eagles stay or go: Offensive tackle

Eagles' O-line in Flux: Who Will Stay, Who Will Go?

The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line is a unit in transition. With the impending departure of several key players, it's time to consider which members of the starting lineup will be sticking around and which ones might be on their way out.

At left tackle, Jordan Mailata is a lock to remain with the team. The 2019 sixth-round pick has been the Eagles' only true anchor at the position since he took over for Jason Peters in 2020. With a very team-friendly contract that runs through 2028, it's unlikely that Mailata will be leaving Philadelphia anytime soon.

On the right side of the line, Lane Johnson is expected to return as well. However, his future with the team may be uncertain due to the departure of longtime head coach Jeff Stoutland. Despite this, Johnson's market value and guaranteed contract make him a difficult player for the Eagles to cut ties with without getting significant compensation in return.

Fred Johnson's future with the team is more uncertain. The 2020 rookie appeared in all 18 games for the Eagles but struggled as a backup to Lane Johnson. After signing with the Jaguars last offseason, Johnson was traded back to Philadelphia for a late Day 3 pick. With Mailata and Johnson firmly entrenched at the starting positions, it's likely that Johnson will be shopping around the league for better opportunities.

At center, Dallas Goedert is expected to leave in free agency. The four-year starter has been an undrafted gem for the Eagles, but his versatility as a tight end might make him more attractive to other teams.

Cameron Williams and Myles Hinton both have a chance to stick around with the team, but their paths will be difficult to predict. Both rookies struggled in training camp before injuries took them out of commission, and they'll need to show significant improvement if they hope to earn a roster spot.

The Eagles' offensive line is certainly an interesting position group heading into 2026. With several players on one-year deals or with uncertain futures, it's unclear who will be starting for the team come opening day. One thing is certain, however: Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson will likely remain the core of the unit for years to come.

.. can you believe how fast time flies? πŸ•°οΈ I'm still thinking about when Jordan Mailata was just a rookie, now he's like the anchor of the team! 😊 And Lane Johnson, man... those two are gonna be the core of that line for years to come. It's crazy to think about all the guys on one-year deals or with uncertain futures... what's gonna happen to them? πŸ€” I'm kinda sad to see Dallas Goedert go, he was a great tight end for us... but at least we know Mailata and Johnson will be there. 😊

πŸ’‘ i think its crazy that lane johnson might not even make it to training camp this year 🀯 but at the same time, he's a key player on the o-line so you kinda gotta keep him πŸ€‘ mailata is gonna be there till 2028 no doubt πŸ’― and cameron williams & myles hinton gotta step up their game if they wanna make the squad πŸ‘ its all about finding those guys who can bring consistency to the line

Ugh, have you guys ever tried that new coffee shop downtown? πŸ€” I mean, I love their cold brew as much as the next person, but the line is always so long! I swear, it's like they're trying to test our patience or something. Anyway, back to football... I'm kinda surprised Mailata is the only anchor at left tackle? I thought for sure there'd be some younger talent coming up to challenge him πŸ˜‚. And what's with Lane Johnson's contract situation? Can't he just sign a deal like everyone else and be done with it? πŸ’Έ

I'm low-key worried about the Eagles' O-line situation πŸ€”. With Goedert leaving in free agency, I don't think anyone can replace his value πŸ€‘. And with Johnson possibly shopping around, it's hard to trust that he'll re-sign or even stick around. Meanwhile, Mailata seems like a solid bet, but what about the guys who are expected to step up? Williams and Hinton need some serious growth spurt if they wanna stay on the roster πŸš€πŸ’ͺ. This whole O-line thing is keeping me on edge 😬.

I think its gonna b interesting 2 see whos comin & goin on that Eagles line πŸ€”... u gotta wonder wut the team's thinking, cahin a guy like Goedert walk away from his contract like dat πŸ’Έ... Mailata & Johnson r def locked in 4 now, but whos next? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

so its crazy to think that the eagles are gonna have some major changes on o-line this offseason... mailata's contract is insane, i love how he just locked himself up for 10 more yrs lol... but lane johnson, idk man, his situation is weird now that stoutland is gone... and dallas goedert leaving in free agency? crazy to think hes gonna be a jag fan instead of an eagle πŸ˜‚

I think it's kinda weird how the Eagles are dealing with their O-line situation πŸ€”. On one hand, having Jordan Mailata as a lock at left tackle makes total sense - he's been solid since taking over for Jason Peters and his contract is super team-friendly. And I can see why they'd want to keep Lane Johnson around too, despite the uncertainty of it all, 'cause he's got market value and a guaranteed contract.

But what really gets me is how Fred Johnson's situation unfolded πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. He comes in as a rookie, struggles as a backup, gets traded back to Philly, and then suddenly becomes irrelevant just because Mailata and Johnson are locked in? It feels like he got caught in the middle of all this shuffling around. And now it's like, if you want him on your team, you gotta make some serious roster moves.

And what about Dallas Goedert 🀯? He was an undrafted gem for years, but then suddenly he becomes a free agent and gets to explore other options? I get that players wanna seek out better opportunities, but it feels like the Eagles are gonna lose him too. It's all so... fluid πŸ˜…. The one thing that's for sure is that Mailata and Johnson will be the core of this O-line for a while, so that's reassuring in a way.

I'm calling BS on Lane Johnson leaving Philly πŸ™„. The dude's too valuable to cut ties with now that Stoutland's gone. And let's be real, Johnson's still got it despite some injuries πŸ€•. He's been holding out for better deals and I don't blame him one bit 😎. As for Fred Johnson, he needs to step up his game or be replaced by someone who can actually back up Mailata πŸ”„. And what's with all the drama around Goedert? Dude's a beast on the field πŸ’ͺ. The only one I'm genuinely worried about is Williams and Hinton... those two need to show some serious progress in training camp if they wanna make it onto the roster πŸ€”.

πŸ€” I'm kinda surprised they're saying goodbye to Dallas Goedert... he's been a solid starter for them since 2021 πŸ™Œ The Eagles need someone who can handle the center position, but whoever takes his place is gonna have some big shoes to fill πŸ‘ πŸ’ͺ Fred Johnson might not be the answer, though... I don't think a trade back from Jacksonville would've made much sense 😐

omg u guys, Eagles o-line is like, SOOO in flux rn! idk who's gonna stay or go πŸ€”. seems like jordan mailata (lol, what a name) is def stickin' around tho πŸ’―. he's our anchor at left tackle and i think philly would be crazy to cut him loose πŸ˜‚. lane johnson might return but his future is uncertain due to coach stoutland leavin'. fred johnson's future is wack tho πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ, he was traded back to philly for a late day 3 pick... guess that says somethin' about how much the eagles like him lol. dan goedert (ugh, another tough one) is probably leavin in free agency tho πŸ‘‹

I think Jordan Mailata is gonna stay put for a while 🀞, his contract is super team-friendly and he's basically the anchor at left tackle now. On the other side, Lane Johnson's future is kinda uncertain but he's still got market value so I guess the Eagles might have to give him some decent cash if they wanna keep him πŸ€‘. And man, Dallas Goedert is leaving in free agency? That's a big loss for the team...

man I'm loving this new season already 🀩! Eagles' O-line is getting a major shakeup but i think mailata and lane johnson are gonna hold strong 🌟 they're like the anchor of that line, no way gonna let go without a fight πŸ’ͺ meanwhile freddie johnson's future is a bit uncertain lol gotta see what happens to him after he gets traded back. got my eye on cameron williams too, rookie season could be lit πŸ”₯

I'm so hyped about the Eagles' O-line situation! 🀩 It's crazy how much change could happen in just one offseason. I mean, Jordan Mailata is basically untouchable right now πŸ˜‚, and Lane Johnson's market value is insane. But at the same time, it's weird that Dallas Goedert has to leave due to free agency... I feel like he was a key player on that line! πŸ€” And can we talk about Cameron Williams and Myles Hinton? I'm rooting for them, but they gotta step up their game ASAP πŸ’ͺ. One thing is for sure though - if Mailata and Johnson stick around, the Eagles will have a solid core for years to come ⚑️.

ugh, think about all these guys leaving their jobs midseason lol idk what kind of stability the o-line has anymore jordan mailata's contract is like forever tho at least he's safe lane johnson might get some heat after peterson leaves tho but honestly it's a mess everyone else can just go ahead and leave

I think it's cool that Jordan Mailata is being considered as a lock for the future 🀞... his contract is so team-friendly lol! And I feel bad for Fred Johnson, he was just trying to make a name for himself and now he's gotta shop around? πŸ˜” Lane Johnson seems like a bit of a wild card though, unsure what will happen with him after Jeff Stoutland leaves. And Dallas Goedert leaving in free agency is gonna be sad πŸ€•... he was such an underrated gem!
