"Eternity" challenges cinema's obsession with the afterlife

I just watched this new movie "Eternity" 🎥 and I gotta say, it's giving me major feels! 🤩 I mean, who hasn't been stuck between two loves or had to choose between what's familiar and what's unknown? It's so relatable! 😂 The way the director, David Freyne, weaves this story around mortality and choice is just masterful. It's like, yeah, life can be scary and uncertain, but at least we get to experience it all! 🌟 And that ending message about embracing uncertainty... *chef's kiss* 💯

I'm like 50/50 on this movie "Eternity". On one hand, I think it's kinda cool how they're breaking away from traditional afterlife vibes and giving souls a choice 🤔. Elizabeth Olsen is looking pretty great as Joan too. But then again, some parts of the story feel a bit mellow to me. Like, what's the point of even having an "afterlife" if it's just gonna be all about choosing between loves? Shouldn't there be more drama or conflict? And don't get me wrong, I love Miles and Callum too, but can we talk about how weird it is for Joan to have two husbands?! 😂💀 Anyway, it's definitely a thought-provoking movie... but do I really wanna think that hard? 🤷‍♀️

I was thinking about this movie last week when I watched a documentary on reincarnation 🤔... it got me thinking about our concept of heaven and hell - is it really as black and white as we think? In "Eternity", Joan has to choose between two loves, but what if we're all just stuck in our own personal purgatory, afraid to let go of the familiar?

I mean, have you ever had that one experience where you were so close to leaving, but something kept you from taking the leap? That's what I think Freyne is trying to say - we need to find a way to move forward, even when it feels scary or uncertain. The afterlife genre can be so predictable, but this film subverts all that and shows us that we have agency in our own mortality 💀.

I love how the visuals in "Eternity" are so whimsical - it's like Joan is living in a dream world where anything is possible 🌙... but at the same time, it feels really grounded. The performances by Olsen and Teller are top-notch too. Miles Teller was in another movie last year that I loved... anyway, back to "Eternity" - what do you guys think? Did Freyne hit the nail on the head with this existential conundrum 🤷‍♀️?

I'm totally obsessed with this new film "Eternity"! 🤩 The whole concept of choosing between two loves after death is so thought-provoking, it's like... what even would you choose? 🤔 I mean, it's not like we have all the answers in life anyway. I love how the director subverts traditional tropes and makes us question our own desires and fears.

The visuals are stunning, by the way! 😍 The whole "paradise" thing is so beautifully depicted, it feels like a dream. And Elizabeth Olsen's performance as Joan is just so relatable. I felt all the emotions she was going through while watching the film. 💔

What I love most about this film is that it doesn't give you easy answers, it just makes you think and feel. It's like... okay, maybe life isn't always about finding certainty, but about embracing the unknown and loving whoever we want to love. ❤️ In a way, it's really inspiring. 💖
