man... this is like so much more than just a knife attack ... it's about how our society deals with people who are struggling, you know? we're always quick to label them as 'problematic' or 'violent', but what if they're just not coping? Cowen's got schizophrenia and he's been vocal about his frustrations with the way the game is being done... it's like we're pushing him further down the rabbit hole ... and now he's facing indefinite detention, that's a pretty heavy price to pay for having an opinion ... but at the same time, you've got to wonder if maybe some of his frustration was justified? I mean, is the Countdown community really doing enough to support these players, or are they just being seen as 'entertainers' ... it's like we're so caught up in our own little world that we forget about the people who are struggling to keep up
I mean, this is just so concerning... like, John's been open about his schizophrenia before, but you'd think that would make a difference, right? The fact that he was detained for an indefinite period without a clear motive makes me worried about the mental health system. And poor Thomas Carey, I hope he recovers soon from that nasty wound! What's even more shocking is how quickly things escalated - I mean, someone spotting him with a knife in public and just... reacting like that. Can you imagine being in that situation? It's just a huge wake-up call for all of us to be more mindful of our own emotions and reactions, especially when we're around others who might be struggling.
