Football Daily | Are Leicester tumbling towards a painfully awkward anniversary party?

Leicester City's once-unstoppable machine appears to be coming to a grinding halt. Ten years ago today, they conquered the Premier League after Riyad Mahrez scored a hat-trick at Swansea, sending Jamie Vardy on a record-breaking scoring streak of 11 consecutive matches. The team was managed by Claudio Ranieri, who used unorthodox motivational techniques that defied logic - dubbed "dilly ding dilly dong" - and somehow worked.

Fast forward to today, Leicester are struggling in the Championship, the second tier of English football. Their downfall started after the 2016-17 season when their manager was sacked following an opening-day loss at Hull, a team with no manager. Ranieri's departure marked the beginning of a tumultuous period for the club.

The story took another dark turn with the tragic helicopter crash in 2018 that killed owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and the subsequent financial mismanagement that has left the club on shaky ground, facing potential relegation and heavy fines. The departure of Jamie Vardy last summer - the last remaining link to that magical season - has further crippled their chances.

Their next match is against Derby County, a team also struggling with form and management issues. Leicester's players have been unable to replicate the magic of their 2016 title win, and fans are left wondering what went wrong. The once-mighty Foxes now face the very real possibility of celebrating in League One, far from the Premier League summit they reached just a decade ago.

OH NO, THIS IS SUCH A SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS FOR LEICESTER CITY!!! 🤯 they were on top of the world 10 years ago and now they're struggling to stay up in the Championship! 😳 i remember watching them win that Premier League title and it was like magic - claudio ranieri's unorthodox tactics seemed to defy logic but somehow worked!!! 💥 fast forward to today and it's just not happening anymore... 🤔 jamie vardy leaving was a huge blow and now the club is facing relegation, fines, and who knows what else?! 😱 this is a dark time for foxes fans! 🐺

I don't get why teams can't just keep their good players instead of letting them leave. Like, Jamie Vardy was on fire back then and now he's gone? That's just not fair to the fans. And what's up with all these managers coming and going? It's like they're changing the team every year or something. Can't they just stick with what works? 🤔

And have you seen the state of the Championship lately? It's like a never-ending cycle of teams going down and others trying to get back up. I swear, some of these owners have no idea how to run a football club. They're just throwing money around without any real strategy. And the players... they're just cogs in a machine, getting promoted and demoted based on who's feeling sorry for themselves at the time. 🚫

I mean, I'm not saying it was all sunshine and rainbows back when Leicester won the title, but at least then they had some sort of cohesion and chemistry. Now it's just a bunch of individuals trying to make a quick buck or get noticed by the big clubs. And the fans are left to pick up the pieces. 🤷‍♂️

aww man it's crazy how much has changed for Leicester City 🤯💔... 10 years ago they were unstoppable and now they're barely scraping by 😩... I think their downfall was more than just Ranieri leaving, it's like the whole team was lost without Jamie Vardy 👋... and now they're facing relegation? that's heartbreaking 🤕... I still don't get what happened to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, he seemed like such a cool owner 😎... hopefully their new management can turn things around and bring back some of that magic 🔮

😔 I feel so bad for Leicester City, man. They were on fire for like 10 years straight and then BAM! Everything just fell apart. Ranieri's tactics might've been weird but I guess that's what made them special back then 🤯. Now they're struggling in the Championship and it's hard not to think about how far they've fallen. The financial stuff must be killing them too 🤑. Jamie Vardy leaving was a huge loss for them, he was like the last piece of that magical season 🔥. It's like, you can't just leave all that history behind and expect everything to work out again 💔. I'm not sure what's going on with Derby County either, but if they can pull off an upset against Leicester, it could be a real wake-up call for both teams 🔄.

🤕 I cant believe leicester city is strugglin so bad 🙈, ten years ago they won the premier league and it was like magic, claudio ranieri's unorthodox tactics were crazy 😂 but now its like theyre just tryin to survive in the championship. i remember watchin that 11 match streak from jamie vardy and thinkin how amazing that is 🤩 now hes gone and its like the end of an era.

i wonder what went wrong, was it just bad luck or did they get complacent? 🤔 their downfall started after ranieri left but then theres all these other things like the helicopter crash and financial issues... its like a domino effect 🎉. fans are gonna be sad when they might have to watch league one footy instead of premier league action 😢 derby county is not gonna make it easy for them though, that match is gonna be intense 🔥
