Football gossip: Anderson, Guehi, Wharton, Guendouzi, Mainoo, Konate, Mateta, Livramento

Manchester City are set to make a £15 million move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson in 2026, according to reports. The 23-year-old England international is one of the club's top transfer targets next year and would prefer him over fellow midfielder Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Napoli have made another enquiry about Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who could be on his way out of Old Trafford. Sunderland are also battling Newcastle for Lazio defender Matteo Guendouzi, with the Frenchman reportedly valued at £15 million.

Atletico Madrid have joined the fray to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, while Real Madrid have dropped their interest in Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate after he revealed his desire to leave Anfield. However, despite Konate being out of contract at the end of the season, Liverpool are still keen on keeping him.

Crystal Palace and France striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is being targeted by AC Milan, with several other clubs also showing interest in the 28-year-old. Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom is being monitored by Derby County, who are struggling to secure a deal with the Sweden international.

Arsenal are on the hunt for Turkey forward Kenan Yildiz, who could join the Gunners after leaving Juventus. However, Manchester United are also interested in signing the 20-year-old and may make an offer soon.

In other transfer news, Cristian Orozco is set to arrive at Old Trafford from Fortaleza CEIF, having agreed a deal with the Red Devils.

🤔 The whole transfer market is just crazy this time of year! I mean, £15 million for Elliot Anderson? That's like, so much money! 🤑 I think Nottingham Forest would be mad to sell him, but what do they know? 😂 At least there are some decent rumors about Cristian Orozco joining Manchester United. That guy's got skills! 💪

omg i just saw the cutest puppy video on tiktok 🐶😍 it was this little ball of fluff that just learned how to ride a skateboard for the first time and it's like it was born to do tricks... anyway back to football, i mean who needs transfer news when you have adorable puppies 🤣

Omg, can't believe the transfer window is already open 😲👀! All these clubs are going crazy for some talented players 🤯! I'm loving the Manchester City move for Elliot Anderson, he's been on fire lately 🔥. And Napoli's interest in Kobbie Mainoo makes me think of how far Sunderland and Newcastle have come 💪🏽💔. Atletico Madrid joining the fray for Marc Guehi is gonna be interesting 🤔.

On another note, I'm not sure what to make of Real Madrid dropping their interest in Konate, was he really that happy at Anfield? 🤷‍♂️ And has anyone considered how much money Liverpool's got 💸?! Arsenal and Manchester United going for Yildiz? That kid is gonna be a star ⭐️. Can't wait to see what other moves happen this season 👀💥

Just had this convo with my mates about the transfer window... think it's gonna be super interesting next year! so many big clubs going after these young players... £15 million for Elliot Anderson? seems steep to me but I guess if Manchester City want him that bad, he'll probably get it. what do you think about Napoli trying to sign Kobbie Mainoo from Man United though? thought he was part of the first team last season lol. and can't believe Liverpool are still chasing Ibrahima Konate despite his clear intentions to leave... think they should focus on getting some younger talent in ASAP

omg i'm so hyped for Elliot Anderson 😆! he's been doing great for Nottingham Forest and i think he'd be a awesome addition to Manchester City 🏃‍♂️💪. hope he makes the move in 2026 tho, can't wait to see him on the pitch again ⚽😄

omg i just can't even right now lol so like Manchester City wanna get Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest?? that's crazy talk i've been following him on Instagram and he's literally the cutest midfielder u've ever seen 😍👀 but at the same time £15 million is like a lot of cash and i'm not surprised they're making an offer. but what's up with all these transfers this year? it feels like every day there's another big move 🤯💸

The way it always seems to work out, does it? A player wants a new challenge, they're wanted by other clubs... meanwhile, another club needs someone who's already got the skills and experience 💡 It makes me think about how our own lives can be like this too. We set goals for ourselves, we want something new, but at the same time, we have opportunities coming to us from all sides 🤝 Like Kobbie Mainoo with Manchester United, he's being courted by several clubs, and it's up to him to decide what's best for his career. Does he take a chance on somewhere new, or does he stay where he is? It's all about weighing the pros and cons, just like we do in our own lives 💬

Ugh, another summer of broken promises from football clubs. Like, how many times are we supposed to get our hopes up only for them to fall flat? Elliot Anderson's going to Manchester City, yay, I guess... 😒 Still got to follow all this drama surrounding Kobbie Mainoo and Matteo Guendouzi though... who's gonna end up with those guys? 🤷‍♂️

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the January transfer window not being here yet lol 😂. Can't believe we're already getting the whispers of big moves for next year. Elliot Anderson's got some big shoes to fill at Manchester City if he can take over from Adam Wharton. I'm curious to see how Kobbie Mainoo will handle a big club move like Napoli, or if he'll be happy with more playing time in Serie A 🤔. And what's going on with Ibrahima Konate? Did the desire to leave Anfield put Liverpool out of the running for him entirely?

omg u guys gotta believe when the sun goes down at manchester city ✨ they're gonna do somethin 15 million pounds for elliot anderson is a lot of money i mean u gotta wonder why they wanna spend it so much on one player 🤔

You can't go back and change the beginning - it's all done. (Emmett Brown 🕰️) I think the way clubs are signing players these days, especially in January window, is just crazy. £15 million for some midfielders? It's like a different game out there. But hey, if you can afford to pay it, go for it! At the end of the day, it's all about winning trophies and making your team better. 💪

🤔 so I think it's interesting that both Manchester City and Sunderland are after Matteo Guendouzi, he's such a talented defender 🙌 but £15 million seems like a lot for him considering his age. Plus, Lazio could be getting some decent cash out of this move...

I'm also kinda surprised Real Madrid dropped interest in Ibrahima Konate so quickly, that guy's got skills 💪 but Liverpool just isn't willing to let him go without a fight.

On the other hand, I think AC Milan making moves for Jean-Philippe Mateta is pretty smart, he's a solid striker with loads of experience. And Arsenal going after Kenan Yildiz could be a good signing if they can get him on a decent deal... 🤞

man I dont get why we always see these players switching clubs every year 🤯 its like theyre just trying to make a quick buck or something... meanwhile our young talent in england is still stuck in the wilderness 🌲 what about investing in the next generation of footballers instead of breaking the bank for some random foreigner? 🤑 and whats with the money transfers between clubs? does nobody care that we have talented players sitting on the bench collecting a wage? 🤔

im think man city should be more careful with transfers, £15 mil for elliot andrewson dont think its worth it, lad's got potential but not ready for premier league just yet 🤔💸 also wat happend to all de players thats left man utd? kobbie mainoo and ibrahima konate are still at old trafford? seems like man utd r losin control on transfers 🚨

I'm intrigued by the Manchester City's pursuit of Elliot Anderson. It's interesting how he's being considered as a more suitable option over Adam Wharton. I think this move could be a shrewd one for City, given Anderson's England international status and his age - 23 is relatively young to have already made an impact at Forest 🤔. The fact that Napoli are also sniffing around Mainoo adds another layer of complexity to the situation. It'll be fascinating to see how this all plays out in 2026! 💡

Omg u guyz!! 🤯 Elliot Anderson is gonna be a City player!! 🏠💙 Manchester City are gonna break the bank for this talented midfielder and i cant even imagine how good he'll look in sky blue! 😍 I mean, Adam Wharton is nice but not on the same level as Anderson. I'm already imagining the midfield pair of Silva & Anderson creating all sorts of magic on the pitch 🎩💫

I think this is gonna be an interesting transfer window! 🤔👀
So Manchester City are goin for Elliot Anderson, seems like they really want him 😅
And I'm surprised Napoli are still after Kobbie Mainoo, hope he doesn't leave us at United 😢
But Atletico Madrid joinin the party for Marc Guehi? That's a great signing for them! 👍

I'm not sure about Manchester United and Liverpool fightin over Konate, can't they just chill? 😒
And Arsenal want Kenan Yildiz? Hope he doesn't get poached by Man U! 🤣
Cristian Orozco is comin in at Old Trafford, that's a nice addition for them too! 👏

I'm loving all this transfer gossip! 🤔 It's like, you've got these big clubs going after these young players and it's just exciting to see who's gonna end up where... Manchester City trying to get that Elliot Anderson guy, I mean, he's a great player, but £15 million is a lot of cash. And what's with all the clubs chasing Matteo Guendouzi? 🤷‍♂️ He'd be a great addition to Newcastle or Sunderland, just think about it... Atletico Madrid joining the fray for Marc Guehi, that's interesting, I've got to keep an eye on that one... Liverpool still wanna keep Konate, even though he says he wants out? 🤔 Not sure what's going on with him, but I guess only time will tell. And AC Milan is after Mateta, I mean, the guy's got talent, maybe he'll finally get some game time somewhere...

I'm not sure about this one, but £15 million for Elliot Anderson seems steep. I mean, he's young and talented, but Manchester City already have plenty of midfield options, right? 🤔 It'd be interesting to see how he fits in with Pep Guardiola's style, though.

As for Napoli trying to sign Kobbie Mainoo again, that's not a big surprise. Manchester United are always looking to revamp their squad, and Napoli seem like they're willing to splurge to get what they want.

I'm a bit curious about the chase for Matteo Guendouzi, though. Sunderland and Newcastle both seem like they need a solid defender, so it'll be interesting to see who ends up getting him 😕
