Football gossip: Mateta, Willock, Rashford, George, Isidor, Duran, Jacquet

AC Milan has secured a long-term deal with French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, who will now stay at the San Siro until 2030. However, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is determined to keep his star player, but he's unwilling to let him go unless they have a suitable replacement lined up.

In other transfer news, Fulham has seen their £20m offer for Joe Willock rejected by Newcastle United, who won't sanction the move unless they find an alternative midfielder. The 26-year-old Englishman was highly sought after, but it seems like he's staying put at St James' Park.

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick is said to be keen on re-recruiting Marcus Rashford, if he stays as head coach beyond this season. If that happens, Rashford could return from his loan spell at Barcelona.

Tyrique George, 19-year-old England Under-21 forward, has been the subject of interest for several clubs, including Sunderland and Everton, as well as Chelsea. Other European teams in Spain, France, and Italy are also in the mix for the talented youngster.

Wilson Isidor, a 25-year-old French forward, has been offered to Napoli by Sunderland. The 22-year-old Colombia striker Jhon Duran is also being looked at by Tottenham and Leeds United, both of whom have been trying to sign him from Fenerbahçe on loan.

Finally, Liverpool and Chelsea are in talks with Rennes about signing defender Jeremy Jacquet in the summer.

I think this transfer news has some fascinating dynamics at play 🤔. AC Milan's long-term deal for Mateta is a shrewd move, given his quality as a striker, but it raises questions about Palace's ability to compete with top-tier clubs like that. On the other hand, Newcastle United's reluctance to sell Willock might just pay off in the long run 🤑.

The Rashford situation is also intriguing - if Carrick stays on, it could be a clever move by United to rekindle their star striker's spark ⚽️. Meanwhile, I'm intrigued by George's talent and the various clubs vying for him 👀. Napoli's interest in Isidor seems like a savvy signing, while Duran's situation is getting more complicated by the day 🕰️.

Lastly, Liverpool and Chelsea's pursuit of Jacquet raises interesting questions about Rennes' strategy - are they trying to cash in on their defender or build towards something bigger? 🤝

omg cant believe AC Milan got Mateta on a long term deal 😱 he's gonna make so many goals at the san siro!! but poor oliver glasner at crystal palace 🤔 can't blame him for wanting to hold onto his star player tho. and willock getting rejected by newcastle is bummer, he's such a talented midfielder 💔 hope he stays put at st james park. and rashford going back to man united would be amazing 😍 if carrick stays on as head coach that is. anyways, can't wait for the summer transfer window to kick off 🚨

omg can't believe AC Milan just snapped up Jean-Philippe Mateta like he's going out of style 😂 meanwhile oliver glasner is over here sweating bullets trying to get his star player 🙄 and let's be real fulham's £20m offer for joe willock was already a bit rich but now it's just laughable 💸 i mean newcastle united is basically saying they need another midfielder as good as joe willock... like what are their midfielders even looking like right now 🤷‍♂️

Mateta's wage must be crazy 💸. Either way, AC Milan is gonna make some noise this season 🎶. Palace need to get their act together or lose another star ⏰. Fingers crossed Willock stays at Newcastle 🙏. Rashford would be a great fit for Manchester United 👍. Tyrique George's future is a mystery 🤔, but I think Sunderland should give him a shot 😊. Isidor at Napoli? Who knew? 😮

I'm not sure why clubs keep dangling these players out there just to see if someone else will make a move... like Joe Willock 🤔. I mean, Newcastle is keeping him, so what's the point of even putting out an offer? And what about Mateta at AC Milan? Is he really worth that long-term deal? 2030?! It feels like players are being held hostage by their agents these days 💸.

I'm not sure why all these big clubs are making such a fuss over these young players... it's like they're just going to sit there collecting dust until one of them gets injured or something 🤔. Like, what's the difference between Tyrique George and Wilson Isidor? Both seem like decent forward options, but one's 19 and the other's 25 - doesn't that make a big enough difference in terms of value to Newcastle or Fulham?

And can we just take a step back for a second? Joe Willock wasn't exactly the hottest transfer target in the world... he was decent, I guess, but not exactly the next Paul Pogba. So why are everyone making such a big deal about him getting rejected by Newcastle? It's just not that exciting of news 😴.

I do have to say, though - it's good to see some young talent being touted around Europe. Maybe we'll finally see some of these kids make a name for themselves and prove all the pundits wrong 🤞. But until then, I'm just gonna sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride... or not bother watching any football at all 😴

lol so AC Milan is like "hey we got a new player" and Crystal Palace is all "uh no we want you back but first can someone please get us another decent striker lol". i mean what's wrong with having a rotation of players? it's not like they're getting old or anything

and omg Joe Willock is staying at Newcastle, about time that guy gets some stability in his life. 20 million quid for him and it's like "nah we can find someone cheaper"... typical Fulham style

and Marcus Rashford going back to Manchester United? what a surprise . if carrick stays on as head coach, i guess rashford will get another chance. but honestly who knows at this point

😒 just don't get why clubs can't make a decision already, like Mateta's deal with AC Milan and he's gonna be there till 2030... 🤯 meanwhile Joe Willock is stuck at Newcastle and Fulham's trying to get him for £20m but nope, not happening 😂. and Rashford's loan spell at Barcelona is just an excuse for United to keep him out of the squad, come on Mike! 👊

I don't think these new player deals are going to improve any team's chances of winning anything 🤔. I mean, how much difference is one French striker (Mateta) really going to make at AC Milan? And what's with all the drama around Joe Willock? Just keep your squad together and stop splashing money around 💸. And don't even get me started on these young players being courted by multiple teams... how will they ever develop their skills in a system that's constantly changing? It's just too much for my liking 🤯.
