Football transfer rumours: Jérémy Jacquet to Liverpool or Chelsea?

Manchester United is set to shake off the slumbering winter transfer window with a bold bid for Chelsea star Cole Palmer. According to Teamtalk, a move for the England international could be nearing fruition, despite being under contract until 2033 and boasting a hefty price tag of £150m.

Meanwhile, United's interim manager Michael Carrick is facing an internal power struggle over Harry Maguire, with some within the Old Trafford hierarchy pushing for a younger player in Leny Yoro or Ayden Heaven to take his place. However, Carrick is keen on retaining the veteran defender.

Burnley may be about to rectify James Ward-Prowse's recent struggles, with the club reportedly eyeing a loan move for the dead-ball specialist. The England international has seemingly become a forgotten man despite his talents.

Wolves are also on the hunt for talent to help them escape relegation. Angel Gomes, who has found limited game time at Marseille recently, could be lured back to England to join Rob Edwards' side. The Wolves midfielder has been spotted watching the league leaders and is reportedly available for around £8m this month.

However, not everyone will want a chance in the Championship. Coventry and Middlesbrough are also interested in Mali striker Lassine Sinayoko, who recently extended his contract at Auxerre but could be tempted by a promotion push rather than relegation battle.

In more exotic climes, Rennes defender Jérémy Jacquet is the object of desire for Liverpool and Chelsea. Despite Bayern Munich's interest, the French club are determined to hold onto him until summer. Meanwhile, Real Madrid have activated an €8m buy-back clause on Victor Muñoz from Osasuna, with plans to sell him on again at a profit.

Finally, in the Women's Super League, London City Lionesses have been linked with a major coup by signing former Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas. The Spain and Barcelona playmaker was spotted watching the Lionesses in action, but it remains to be seen whether she will join the team this winter.

I don’t usually comment but I think Manchester United should just wait for the summer transfer window if they really want Cole Palmer 😒. £150m is crazy and I feel like he could get a better deal elsewhere if they hold onto him. Plus, Michael Carrick needs to decide what he wants – keep Harry Maguire or bring in someone new? 🤔

omg I'm so confused about Manchester United's transfer plans 🤯 they're basically throwing £150m around like confetti 💸 Cole Palmer is talented and all, but do they really need him that badly? 🤔 on the other hand Burnley could be onto something with James Ward-Prowse, he's still got some decent skills left in him ⚽️ I'm not sure about Wolves signing Angel Gomes, their team seems pretty stacked already 😅 what's next, are they going to bring back Benik Afobe and make it a 90s revival? 🤣

Ugh, just another bunch of teams trying to screw each other over with silly transfer deals... Like Manchester United actually thinks they can just waltz in and steal Cole Palmer away from Chelsea? Please, the guy's under contract for like 4 more years, what makes them think they can afford him now? And don't even get me started on Michael Carrick trying to strong-arm Harry Maguire into playing... Meanwhile, Burnley is like "Hey, let's give James Ward-Prowse a loan so he doesn't totally forget about his talents". Like the guy was ever really that relevant to begin with. 🙄

I think Cole Palmer should stay put at Chelsea, he's doing a good job for them 🤔. I mean, £150m is a lot of cash, I'm not saying they can't afford it, but what if they need him to help them win some silverware? And let's be real, Harry Maguire is getting on a bit, I think he should take a seat and let the youngsters come through 🙅‍♂️. Burnley signing James Ward-Prowse makes total sense though, he needs someone who can knock in goals from dead-ball situations... but not too late to the party, mate! 😂

lol @ Cole Palmer's price tag... £150m is crazy! 🤑 does anyone think he's worth that kinda cash? personally think man u should go for him, maguire is getting old, needs a young boost 💪 anyway, heard carrick wants to keep him, but c'mon, it's time for change at old trafford 😂

Ugh, another transfer window that's more focused on broke clubs trying to snag talent from bigger teams 🤦‍♂️💸. I mean, Cole Palmer at £150m? Are you kidding me?! That's just ridiculous 💅. And what about the fact that he's under contract until 2033? Is Manchester United really expecting him to just up and leave after a few months of trying out their squad? 🙄. And don't even get me started on the Burnley thing, £8m for James Ward-Prowse in January is just too much 🔴.

It's always about money and power when it comes to football transfers 💸. Can't anyone see that these clubs are just throwing good players away because they're desperate to stay afloat? 🤷‍♂️. And what's with all the drama surrounding Harry Maguire? Like, can't Michael Carrick just make up his mind already? 😩.

I swear, football transfer news is more exhausting than watching a soap opera 📺. Just when I think it's over, there's another bombshell to deal with 🔥. Can't we just have a normal day without some club trying to poach another player? 🙃.
