Former USIP Lawyer on DOGE: ‘Brass Knuckles on an Authoritarian Fist’

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been likened to "brass knuckles on an authoritarian fist" by former US Institute of Peace outside general counsel George Foote. According to Foote, DOGE operatives arrived at the USIP headquarters in a manner reminiscent of a "strike team." The group left behind a small amount of cannabis and seemed unclear about their purpose or how to utilize the facility.

Foote expressed skepticism regarding Musk's intentions with regard to DOGE, stating that his actions had reached an unprecedented level of destructiveness. Despite efforts by Trump administration officials to take control of USIP, the agency was ultimately ruled unconstitutional by a court judge.

In recent days, a peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo was signed at the USIP headquarters, with President Trump's name being installed on the building ahead of the ceremony. However, Foote stated that this action was intended to assert control over the facility.

Foote, who is currently representing USIP directors in a lawsuit challenging Trump's authority to remove them from office, expressed confidence in their prospects for success, despite the protracted nature of the proceedings. According to Foote, it is essential for people to be vigilant and stand up in defense of the rule of law in this instance.

I'm getting worried about what's going on with Elon Musk's DOGE 🤖💡. It sounds like they're overstepping their boundaries and causing more harm than good. I mean, who arrives at a neutral facility unannounced and leaves behind some weed? 🌿 That's just weird, dude. And now they're trying to assert control over USIP? Come on, Elon. What's the plan here? 😕 It's one thing to try to shake things up, but this feels like a power grab. I'm all for innovative ideas, but you gotta walk the walk and respect people's space. This whole thing just feels off 🤔.

can u believe what happened at that USIP building? 🤯 like a legit strike team showed up outta nowhere & left behind some ganja lol but seriously tho, elon musk's department is sounding super sketchy 🚨 does anyone think he's just trying to flex his muscles or what's the real deal here? 🤔 gotta give it to george foote tho, he's standin up for usip & defendin the rule of law 💪 but still got a lot goin on between trump admin officials & elon musk... 😩 just wanna see peace agreements happen without all the drama 😊

Ugh 🤕 just read about Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) being compared to "brass knuckles on an authoritarian fist" I'm not surprised tbh, Musk has been making some questionable moves lately. The fact that they showed up at the USIP headquarters like a strike team is super concerning. And now they're trying to assert control over the building by putting Trump's name on it? It's like, what's next? 🤔 I'm all for transparency and accountability but this feels like a power grab. And don't even get me started on the cannabis they left behind lol 😂

omg what's going on with Elon Musk's DOGE 🤯🚨 I don't know if it's a joke but having brass knuckles on an authoritarian fist sounds super serious 💔 like, shouldn't we be worried? 😬 and cannabis just chillin' at the USIP headquarters 🍴👀 who knew that was even an option? 🤷‍♀️ anyway, I'm low-key concerned about George Foote's claims - it seems like Trump is trying to exert some major control over the situation 💪 but if someone's gonna speak out against it, I'm all for it 🙌 we do need to be vigilant and stand up for the rule of law in this case 👮‍♀️

🤔 what's going on with elon's department of government efficiency?! sounds like a recipe for disaster 🚨 I mean, leaving cannabis at a peace agreement signing ceremony? that's just weird 😂 and george foote's comments about musk's intentions make me think there's more to it than meets the eye 🤯 do we really need another layer of inefficiency in our government system? 📝

I'm low-key worried about what's going on with DOGE 🤔... I mean, who shows up at someone else's office uninvited and leaves a joint behind? 😂 That doesn't sound like efficiency to me. And George Foote seems right to be skeptical - it's just not right that Trump was trying to take control of the USIP headquarters in the first place. 🙅‍♂️ On the other hand, I do appreciate how Foote and the directors are fighting back against Trump's moves in court 💪... we need more people standing up for the rule of law, especially when it comes to organizations that promote peace and understanding like the USIP 👍.

Umm yeah so I'm thinking DOGE should totally be renamed from Department of Government Efficiency to, like, Department of Disorganization 🤦‍♂️. I mean, who sends a "strike team" to someone's office without a clear plan? And what's up with leaving cannabis behind? That's just weird. Foote seems super legit though, I'm rooting for him in this whole thing. We need more people like him standing up for the rule of law 🙌. Can you imagine if Trump's name was even installed on that building as a joke? What a laughable move 😂.

OMG 🤯, Elon Musk's DOGE is like something outta a bad action movie 💥! Who sends a "strike team" to an innocent org like USIP without even knowing what they're doing? And leaving behind some ganja? Like, what's up with that?! 😂 I don't trust this guy at all... he seems super aggressive and power-hungry 🤑. And Trump trying to take control of the place? No way! That's not how democracy works 🤦‍♂️. But seriously, Foote is right, we gotta stay vigilant and protect our institutions from people who wanna abuse their power 💪. Can't let them just do whatever they want... that's not freedom, that's tyranny 👊

DOGE is like a bad date 🤦‍♂️ - shows up uninvited, leaves a weird gift (cannabis), and still can't figure out what they want 😅. Musk's actions are super concerning, need to keep an eye on him 💡. Can't believe he's trying to exert control over the USIP building after Trump removed them 🤬. Good on George Foote for speaking truth to power 👏

Ugh 🤔, Elon Musk's DOGE is just getting weirder by the day 🙄. First, they're snooping around the USIP headquarters like a bunch of spies 🕵️‍♂️, and now they're leaving cannabis on the table 😂? Like what even is that? And Foote's right, Trump's trying to use the whole peace agreement thing as an excuse to exert control over USIP 🤥. I mean, can't we just let these organizations do their jobs without all this drama? 💔 It's like Musk's DOGE is just a big PR stunt, and it's not fooling anyone 🙄.

I'm low-key freaked out about Elon Musk's DOGE thing rn 🤯🚫 I mean, what even is that? It sounds super sketchy that they just showed up at USIP headquarters like a SWAT team and left behind some weed 🌿😂. And Foote saying Trump was trying to assert control over the building after he got removed from office... that's just wild 🔥. Like, I get it, we should all be vigilant about our government's actions, but this feels super sinister 😳. Can someone pls explain what's going on with DOGE and what Musk's real agenda is? 🤔💡

OMG, what is going on with Elon Musk 🤯?! I mean, I know he's a genius and all but this Department of Government Efficiency thing is getting out of hand 💥! First, they're like a "strike team" showing up unannounced at the USIP headquarters 🚨 and then leaving behind some wacky stuff like cannabis... like what even? And now President Trump's name is on the building, but it's all about control, right? 😒 It's so concerning when people try to undermine the rule of law and stand up for democracy. We need more people like George Foote speaking out against this kind of behavior 🙌! Let's hope those USIP directors get their justice soon 🤞

I'm low-key worried about DOGE managin' stuff. First, you got Elon Musk's team showin' up like a strike squad at USIP, that's already shady enough. And then they just leave this weird stash and are all "we're good?" What's the real motive here? It feels like they're tryin' to exert some kinda control over the whole peace agreement thingy... President Trump's name on the building, that's just a bit too convenient if you ask me 🤔💥.

omg u no how much i love elon musk ??!! 🤯 he's like a genius or something... ok so i read this article about his new doge thingy and it seems kinda sketchy 🤔 but i trust him 1000%!!! he's just trying to make the world a better place, one government efficiency initiative at a time 💡 plus, who needs cannabis when you have innovative solutions like doge? 🌿🚀 anywayz, george foote sounds like a total buzzkill 😒 but i'm sure elon knows what he's doing... after all, he did revolutionize space travel and electric cars 🚀💻

I'm really worried about what's going on with DOGE 🤯. It sounds like they're just causing a lot of chaos and confusion wherever they go. I mean, arriving at someone's place like a "strike team" is not exactly the friendliest way to make an entrance 😬. And leaving behind some cannabis? That's just weird.

I don't really get what Elon Musk is trying to achieve with DOGE either 🤔. Is he trying to be some kind of superhero or something? It seems like he's more interested in causing trouble than actually making things better. I'm not surprised that the former USIP lawyer is skeptical about his intentions - it sounds like they're just trying to do their job without any help from Musk.

I do think it's great that there are people standing up for what's right, though 👏. The fact that President Trump's name was installed on the building without his permission is pretty suspicious, but at least it shows that someone is trying to take him down. I hope those representing the USIP directors can succeed in their lawsuit and get some answers about what's really going on 🤞

I just got back from the most random road trip to visit my aunt who lives like an hour outside the city 🚗. The scenic route was so beautiful, I spotted a bunch of wildflowers and even saw a deer crossing the road! 🦌 Anyway, I started thinking about how much I love road trips because you never know what's gonna happen or where you'll end up... kind of like with this whole DOGE thing, right? 😂 I mean, who sends a "strike team" to someone's office building without knowing what they're doing? And that part about the cannabis being left behind is just wild 🌿.
