Four Wild games coming to over-the-air TV this season

Big Hockey Games to Hit Mainstream TV This Season, Bringing NHL Back to Local Airwaves.

In a move that promises to bring some excitement back to local sports viewing, the Minnesota Wild have announced that four of their upcoming games will be broadcast on over-the-air television this season. This marks a significant shift for the team, who are typically associated with premium broadcasting channels and streaming services.

Starting Thursday, January 29th, Wild fans in the Twin Cities area will be able to catch the team's home game against Calgary at 7 p.m. on KSTC-TV (channel 45), without needing a subscription or cable package. This same broadcast will also be available for games against Nashville on April 11th and Anaheim on April 14th, as well as a February 27th matchup against Utah.

In addition to the local market, Wild fans in Alexandria, Duluth, Redwood Falls, and Rochester can catch these games on KSAX-TV, WDIO-TV, KRWF-TV, and KAAL-TV, respectively. These channels are owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, which has secured the rights to broadcast the four games on over-the-air television.

This is a notable development for the NHL in Minnesota, marking the first time since the 2010-11 season that Wild games have been broadcast on local TV without relying on premium services.

I'm so stoked about this news! ๐Ÿคฉ It's amazing that more people will get to experience live hockey action on their TVs without having to shell out for cable or subscription fees. I've got a friend who lives in MN and is super passionate about the Wild, and it's gonna be awesome for her to catch games with her family and friends without having to worry about streaming or online prices ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’ธ

I'm kinda stoked about this, you know? It's cool to see the Minnesota Wild getting some mainstream love. I mean, hockey's not just for cable subscribers anymore! ๐Ÿ’๏ธ This is a win-win for fans who want to catch their team play without breaking the bank or having to deal with all that extra clutter on streaming services.

And it's awesome that Hubbard Broadcasting is making this happen. They're bringing hockey back to local airwaves, which is exactly what we need โ€“ more people getting excited about the sport! I'm thinking fans in those smaller towns will really appreciate being able to catch the games without having to drive all the way to Minneapolis or watch them online.

Plus, it's not like this is going to disrupt anyone's cable package or anything. It's just one of those little perks that makes life better for hockey enthusiasts. So, yeah! I'm feeling pretty positive about this development ๐Ÿ˜Š

awww man, this is such awesome news ๐ŸŽ‰! i'm so stoked to hear that the minnesota wild are going to be on mainstream tv again! it's about time we got to see some live hockey action on our local channels ๐Ÿ’๏ธ. i know how much people in the twin cities love their wild, and this is gonna bring so much excitement back to the sport... can't wait to catch a game with friends and family! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿ’๏ธ I'm stoked about this move! It's awesome to see hockey getting some love on mainstream TV again ๐Ÿ“บ. The NHL has a huge following in Minnesota, and having these games available for free is going to be a game-changer (pun intended) ๐Ÿ‘. It'll be sweet to see the Wild bringing excitement back to local sports viewing, especially with more people discovering the sport through this new broadcast ๐Ÿคฉ. I'm curious to see how it affects attendance at their home games - maybe we'll see some sold-out crowds ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ!

I'm hyped about this! ๐Ÿคฉ Big hockey games coming to mainstream TV is gonna bring some much-needed excitement back to local sports viewing. I've been missing my Wild games on regular channels, now we can catch 'em live without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ. Minnesota's got a sick hockey scene and this move's gonna make it more accessible for fans everywhere ๐Ÿš€. I'm also loving that it's not just about premium services anymore, you know, anyone with an antenna or cable can watch these games ๐Ÿ˜Š. The NHL's making some solid moves to bring in new fans and old ones alike ๐Ÿ‘. Can't wait to see the Wild take on those top teams this season ๐Ÿ’๏ธ!

Dude, I'm so stoked about this! ๐Ÿคฉ The fact that they're finally bringing NHL games to regular ol' TV is a total game-changer (pun intended). I mean, who needs cable when you've got the Wild taking the ice? It's gonna be sick seeing those games on KSTC-TV and the other channels. And yeah, it's not like this is a big deal for hockey fans or anything... ๐Ÿ˜‚ Just kidding, it's huge! The NHL in Minnesota has been stuck in the dark ages of broadcasting, and now they're finally catching up with the rest of the world. I'm gonna make sure to tune in to those games on January 29th, especially since it's a home game against Calgary ๐Ÿ’๏ธ

The NHL needs a shake-up, you know? We've been stuck with endless hockey highlights and behind-the-scenes stuff on cable for ages ๐Ÿค”. It's refreshing to see one of the teams actually making an effort to get their games out there in a way that's easy for everyone to watch. I mean, who doesn't want to catch a Wild game without having to subscribe to some fancy streaming service? ๐Ÿ˜Š The fact that they're going over-the-air this time around is a big deal โ€“ it's like the team is saying, "Hey, we've got fans out there and we want them to be able to watch us play!" And let's be real, those TV channels in Minnesota are gonna get slammed with requests for more hockey after this ๐Ÿ“บ.

omg ๐Ÿ˜ i'm so stoked about this! finally some hockey love on mainstream tv ๐Ÿ’๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ it's gonna be sick to watch the wild play live on channels i can access w/o a cable package ๐Ÿ’ป just imagine being able to catch those games with all my friends who don't have sports packages too ๐Ÿค— the fact that hubbard broadcasting secured these rights is fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ i'm hyped for jan 29th's game against calgary, and april's matchups against nashville and anaheim ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ‘

Man, this is like a game-changer for sports fans in MN! They're making hockey more accessible to everyone, not just those with fancy cable packages. It's like, anyone can tune in now, and that's awesome ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’ฅ

You know what this says about our society? We need more people coming together over shared interests! Sports have a way of bringing communities together, and now even the most casual fans can catch some action without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ

It's also like, proof that change is possible. The Wild used to be a premium only team, but they're making a shift now, and it's going to bring more people into the fold ๐Ÿ”„ We all need to be open to new ideas and willing to adapt, just like this move by the Wild.

Anyway, I'm hyped for those games! Who else is stoked about seeing some NHL action on TV? ๐Ÿ˜„

omg u guys!!! NHL is finally comin back to mainstream tv!! i've been sayin this 4eva - sports should be accessible to EVERYONE not just those with fancy cable subs ๐Ÿ™Œ KSAX-TV and KSTC-TV are gonna b my go-to channels 2 catch the Wild games! it's def a positive step 4 hockey fans in minnesota! ๐Ÿ’๏ธWDIO-TV is also gonna b awesome ๐Ÿคž can't w8 2 see those games on tv!!

OMG, like I know some ppl who are super hyped about this ๐Ÿคฉ! Bringing hockey to the mainstream is a total game-changer, fam ๐Ÿ˜†. I mean, who doesn't love watching their fave team live on TV? It's gonna be lit! ๐ŸŒŸ And it's dope that they're making it accessible to more people, especially those in smaller markets like Alexandria and Duluth. Like, can you imagine the energy at a Wild game in one of those places? ๐ŸŽ‰ The NHL is finally stepping up its broadcast game and I'm here for it ๐Ÿ’ฏ!

omg I'm so hyped about this! ๐Ÿคฉ like who doesnt want to watch hockey on tv for free?? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I wasnt aware we had an nhl team in minnesota... is it a new team or has one moved there? also do you think theyll play more games on local tv if theyre doing this well?

I'm so stoked about this! I mean, who doesn't love watching live hockey on TV? It's gonna be sick to see the Wild play some of their most important games for free ๐Ÿคฉ! I remember when my dad used to watch the Rangers play at the old Madison Square Garden and it was always such a big deal. Now, with all these channels carrying the games, we'll have more people watching and enjoying the sport. Plus, it's awesome that the team is getting back to their local roots after being on those fancy cable channels for so long ๐Ÿ“บ๐Ÿ’๏ธ

I'm so stoked about this news!!! ๐Ÿคฉ It's like, finally, hockey is going to be more accessible to regular people who don't have cable or streaming subscriptions. I mean, imagine being able to watch your fave team play live without having to shell out extra cash... it's a total game-changer (pun intended)! ๐Ÿ“บ The fact that these games are being broadcast on over-the-air channels is just so cool. It's like they're bringing the hockey action right into our living rooms! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I'm not sure how thrilled I am about this. Free hockey on TV sounds awesome, but think about all the ads you'll be subjected to. It's like they're saying "Hey, we want your money, even if we're giving away our games for free!" ๐Ÿค‘ Plus, what's next? Are they gonna start showing reruns of old hockey games too? And who gets to decide which games make it to local TV and which ones don't? It just seems like another way for the NHL to get more exposure without having to actually invest in the team itself. I guess it's a step in the right direction, but let's not get our hopes up just yet... ๐Ÿค”

I'm so stoked about this news! ๐ŸŽ‰ finally some hockey love on regular ol' tv, you know? I've got friends who are huge NHL fans and they're always raving about the games on cable, but it's just not accessible to everyone. Now we can all tune in and cheer on our Wild team without breaking the bank ๐Ÿ’ธ or having a fancy subscription. And it's awesome that they're showing these games locally too, so I'll get to catch some of them live! ๐Ÿ’๏ธ

I'm kinda stoked about this news ๐Ÿคฉ, but also think it's a bit of a mixed bag ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, it's awesome that more people are going to be able to watch the Wild without having to break the bank or subscribe to cable ๐Ÿค‘. It's good for the team and the local community to have a bigger reach and potentially attract new fans.

On the other hand, I'm worried about the long-term implications of this shift ๐Ÿ”ฎ. With more games being broadcast on over-the-air TV, it could lead to a decline in viewership and revenue from premium services ๐Ÿ“‰. The NHL is already struggling with declining attendance and ratings, so this might be a double-edged sword ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Still, I'm hoping it's a step in the right direction and sets a precedent for more teams to follow ๐Ÿ‘!

I'm so stoked to hear that more hockey games are coming to mainstream TV this season! I mean, who doesn't love watching a live game from the comfort of their own home? My kid is totally obsessed with the Minnesota Wild and it's awesome that they can watch their team play on TV without having to ask me for the password every week. And let's be real, who needs cable when you've got over-the-air broadcast right in your living room? The fact that more games are being made available to a wider audience is super exciting - I'm sure it'll bring back some of that old-school sports viewing magic! ๐Ÿ’๏ธ๐Ÿ“บ

Think about it... this shift to mainstream TV is not just about hockey, is it? ๐Ÿค” It's about bringing people together, creating a sense of community, and making sports more accessible to everyone. I mean, who doesn't love watching a live game with friends and family on the big screen? It's like coming full circle - from backyard games with neighbors to the living rooms of America, now hockey is coming back to our airwaves. The Wild are doing their part to make that happen ๐Ÿ’๏ธ. But what does this say about our society? Are we still hungry for that communal experience, or are we just getting by with solo streaming sessions? Food for thought ๐Ÿ˜Š
