The whole thing is kinda messed up . I mean, this bridge was like a national pastime or something... and people were just gonna go ahead and end their lives there? It's crazy how society can be so numb to tragedy . And the fact that they kept it open for years, it's like... what were they even thinking?
I don’t usually comment but... this story about High Bridge in Lincoln Park is so haunting . It’s crazy to think that a spot that was meant to bring people joy – with its beautiful views of Lake Michigan – ended up being this dark and troubled place where people went to take their lives . I mean, can you imagine picnicking under the bridge thinking it might be your last time? That's just so sad . And yeah, it’s true that the economic times back then were really tough for a lot of people . It makes sense that mental health issues and social problems were more prevalent during that era . I don’t think we should forget about this part of history though . We need to learn from our mistakes and try to create better systems in place to support people struggling with mental health and economic hardships .
