I mean come on $20 per device? That's like, laughable! It's not like they're giving you a free Tupperware set or something . They should be paying way more considering how much data is being collected and potentially misused. And what really gets me is that Google just agreed to pay up without even admitting guilt . I'm all for settling, but this feels like a slap on the wrist to me . And don't even get me started on Apple's Siri settlement - $95 million seems way more reasonable . It's just not right that these companies think they can just collect our data and monetize it without any real consequences . I hope more people speak out about this and demand better .
omg I'm like totally relieved that Google is settling this lawsuit it's crazy that they were misusing users' private info without even realizing it like how did that happen?!? anyway I think $20 per device might be kinda low though... I mean, if Apple had to pay out $95 million for similar issues, why can't Google do the same? on a more positive note, it's awesome that these lawsuits are bringing attention to data privacy and making companies think twice about how they handle user info
This whole thing is really making me think... We're living in a world where our own voice assistants are essentially watching us, listening to our conversations, and using that info to sell us stuff without us even realizing it It's like, we trust these things so much that we don't even question how they work. And then you realize that the company behind them is just trying to make a buck off your personal data... I mean, what does it say about our society when we're okay with giving up that kind of control? And let's not forget Apple got away with way more than Google $95 million for Siri is just wild. It feels like the more they get caught, the less they have to pay Either way, I think this settlement is a step in the right direction... but we need to be even more vigilant about protecting our online privacy
