Google begins rolling out Chrome's "Auto Browse" AI agent today

Google has officially launched its highly anticipated "Auto Browse" AI-powered browsing agent in the Chrome browser, marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into its services. The feature is initially available to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, who will be able to take advantage of various benefits, including up to 200 browsing tasks per day.

The Auto Browse agent is designed to handle tedious tasks such as filling out forms, copying information from emails, and completing tasks on websites. By leveraging Google's Gemini 3 models, the AI-powered feature promises to streamline users' browsing experience while providing more efficient ways to complete routine tasks.

When you launch an Auto Browse task, Chrome will open new tabs as necessary and mark them with a sparkly AI icon, allowing you to monitor the agent's activity without needing to keep that tab in focus. The AI will ping you when the task is completed or needs your input, enabling seamless interaction between the user and the browsing experience.

However, it's essential to note that Auto Browse comes with some limitations. Google has implemented security measures to prevent misuse, but users should be aware that generative AI can make mistakes. Moreover, all content from robotically operated tabs will be streamed to a cloud-based Gemini model, which may raise concerns about data storage and usage.

In the preview phase, Chrome Auto Browse is available for free, but it's only accessible to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. Google hints that this feature might become available to free users later, with strict usage limits in place.

I'm not sure I trust these new features... like "Auto Browse" πŸ€”. It sounds cool at first, but what if it makes me lazy? I mean, I pay for Chrome to be my browser, but now you're telling me it's gonna do all the work for me? πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ And what about my security? Streaming data to a cloud-based model just doesn't sit right with me... like how is that even private? πŸ˜• And 200 browsing tasks per day? That's just asking for trouble... I don't wanna be responsible for some AI bot getting it wrong and causing problems. πŸ’» What's the point of having an AI if we can't even control what it does? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

πŸ€” I mean, what's next? Google's gonna have an AI butler for your browser? πŸ™„ Auto Browse sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie, but hey, I'm all for making our lives easier. 200 browsing tasks per day, though? That's just crazy talk! πŸ˜‚ I can already imagine my grandma using this feature to fill out her online shopping forms without me even having to help her... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ On the other hand, it's good that Google's got security measures in place to prevent any mischievous AI behavior. Can't have robots taking over our browsers just yet! 😜

Ugh, I just spent like 10 mins filling out a form on Amazon and the Auto Browse thingy was supposed to do it for me but it kept failing lol. I guess it's still a work in progress πŸ€”β€β™‚οΈ. The idea is cool though, having an AI that can handle all those tedious tasks would be super convenient. But yeah, security is a big concern and I'm not sure if I want my data just streaming to the cloud without any clear answers on what's happening to it 🚫. And btw, who thought it was a good idea to put a sparkly AI icon next to a tab? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Ugh, I'm gonna need a while to get used to having my browser do the work for me πŸ˜‚. It's like, yeah, it sounds convenient but what happens when the AI gets stuck or makes a mistake? That's always a bummer... But at the same time, if it can make things easier and faster, I'm all for it πŸ’». I mean, who doesn't love saving a few seconds in their day? The cloud storage thing is a bit of a concern tho πŸ€”... what's Google gonna do with all that data? Maybe they'll figure out a way to keep us safe, but still...

I'm not sure how much I want to get used to having my browser do everything for me lol πŸ€”... I mean, on one hand, it's kinda cool to have all those tedious tasks handled automatically, but on the other hand, there's just something about doing things yourself that feels right? Like, I get it, AI is supposed to make our lives easier, but what if we forget how to do things ourselves? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm a bit worried about the data storage part too... like, where exactly is this cloud-based model gonna store all that info? And what's up with those strict usage limits for free users? Are they trying to gauge interest or something? πŸ€‘ I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

I'm not sure I trust all these AI-powered features πŸ€”... as a parent, my kid's got enough to deal with, like schoolwork and stuff πŸ“šπŸ‘€... do we really need a browser that's gonna start doing everything for us? I mean, what if it makes mistakes or gets our info mixed up? It sounds like a recipe for disaster 😳... and what about the cloud storage aspect? Are we just giving Google free access to our browsing history? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ... I'm all for innovation, but let's not rush into this without thinking through the consequences, you know?

I'm not sure about auto browsing on Chrome yet πŸ€”. It sounds like a game-changer, but I worry about data security 🚫. I mean, if my kids are using it to shop online or complete homework without me knowing, that's a bit concerning 😬. And what about the potential for misinformation? My kiddos need to learn how to critically think and evaluate sources online, not just rely on AI to do it for them πŸ’‘. Plus, with the cloud-based Gemini model, I'm not sure I want my data being stored somewhere I don't fully understand πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Maybe it's a step in the right direction, but let's see how this plays out before we all get too comfortable πŸ“Š

idk why google feels like it needs to make a browser just to do stuff for us lol πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ anyway, i guess its nice that they're trying to streamline things but like, isn't this just gonna be another thing for them to collect data on? πŸ“Š and what's up with the sparkly AI icon? is it supposed to be cute or something? πŸŽ‰

omg u gotta try chrome auto browse!! 🀩 i was skeptical at first but its literally changed the game for me! no more wasting time on tedious tasks like filling out forms or copying info from emails 😴. its so cool that u can just launch a task and let chrome do the work, then get notifications when its done πŸ’». but yeah gotta be careful with the security stuff πŸ€”... dont wanna have my data compromised πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ. cant wait to see if they make it available to free users later πŸ’Έ
