Greensky Bluegrass to headline 2026 Ann Arbor Folk Fest - Detroit Metro Times

Greensky Bluegrass to Take Center Stage at Ann Arbor Folk Fest in 2026

Kalamazoo's beloved bluegrass quintet, Greensky Bluegrass, has been tapped as the headlining act for next year's Ann Arbor Folk Fest. The band will kick off the four-day festival with a full-length concert on Friday, January 30th, marking a new format for the event.

According to organizers, this move was made in response to audience feedback, who expressed enthusiasm for a longer headline performance. Greensky Bluegrass is set to deliver a high-energy show at Hill Auditorium, where the event will also raise funds for The Ark, a nonprofit venue that has been a staple of the local music scene.

The festival's lineup includes an eclectic mix of artists, including Amos Lee, Dawes, and the Crane Wives, who will perform on Saturday, January 31st. Jon Muq and Rabbitology will join Ryan Montbleau as part of the event's traditional MC rotation. Tickets for the festival range from $56.60 to $281.50.

Founded in 2000, Greensky Bluegrass has become a staple of the jam band scene by blending bluegrass sounds with other musical influences. The five-piece lineup consists of Dave Bruzza on guitar, Paul Hoffman on mandolin, Michael Arlen Bont on banjo, Anders Beck on dobro, and Mike Devol on upright bass.

Tickets for the Friday show go on sale at 10 a.m. on November 21st. Tickets for the Saturday show are available now through The Ark's website.

I'm like super stoked that Greensky Bluegrass is headlining the Ann Arbor Folk Fest in 2026 ๐Ÿคฉ, but at the same time, I think it's kinda weird that they're going to play a full-length concert on just one night... doesn't that feel too long for anyone? I mean, wouldn't you rather spread out the energy over two days or something? ๐Ÿค” And what about all the other awesome artists like Amos Lee and Dawes who are playing on Saturday? Are they gonna get lost in the shuffle with Greensky Bluegrass taking center stage? ๐ŸŽธ

Man I'm so stoked about this! Greensky Bluegrass is gonna bring that energy to Ann Arbor, and I know it's gonna be lit ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŽธ. I've been following them since they came out with their debut album, and they just keep getting better with each new release. Their live shows are always a wild ride, and I'm sure this festival performance is gonna be no exception.

I remember back in the day, when bluegrass was still a bit of an underground thing, but now it's like mainstream or whatever ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And you know what? I'm totally cool with that. The fact that they're blending those traditional sounds with other genres is just awesome. It's like they're pushing the boundaries of what bluegrass can be.

I've got my ticket for Friday already, and I'm counting down the days until January 30th ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ. Can't wait to see them bring that bluegrass magic to Hill Auditorium!

I'm kinda bummed that Greensky Bluegrass is headlining this year but I guess it makes sense, all those other artists aren't really my vibe lol. But seriously, Hill Auditorium is gonna be a sick venue for their concert ๐Ÿคฏ. And I love how the event is raising money for The Ark, they're doing some amazing work in the community. Anyone else thinking of making a weekend out of it?
