omg i'm loving this list !! personally i'm a huge fan of 'friends' and rewatching it every now and then is like my ultimate self-care thing , there's just something about the characters and their relationships that feels so comforting . also, i've been meaning to watch more of 'the planets' series with brian cox - his voice is so soothing and informative . but what really caught my eye was 'first dates' - it's one of those shows where you feel like you're right there in the moment with the couples, trying not to laugh at their awkward moments . and have you guys seen 'how to with john wilson'? it's like a big ol' hug for your soul , just pure chill vibes. anyway, i think what makes these shows so great is that they're all about escapism in a good way - they help you forget about your worries and just relax .
omg i totally agree with this list lol , like who doesn't love watching friends for comfort ? and the planet documentaries are so soothing too , especially with brian cox narrating . i also recently watched superstore and it's hilarious . but what really gets me is first dates, it's just so relatable . have you guys seen any of those time team episodes? they're like, the ultimate chill watch . and richard osman's house of games is also a great find . i think we need more comfort tv shows like these in our lives lol .
Ugh, I'm so over all these feel-good shows . They're just a bunch of escapist nonsense that makes people forget about the world's problems. "Friends" is just a show about privileged white people having problems? Give me a break . And don't even get me started on "First Dates" - it's like, yeah sure, I want to watch a couple make out for 45 minutes straight... not. Can we watch something that actually challenges us for once? Like "The Planets" is cool and all, but it's still just a bunch of ancient history documentaries . And what's up with the obsession with old people's games shows? "Richard Osman's House of Games" sounds like something Grandpa would watch while knitting . Give me some edgy, thought-provoking content that'll make me question everything... not this sappy, comfy stuff
I've been binge-watching this 'How to With John Wilson' thing and it's honestly so soothing I mean, who wouldn't want to learn how to walk into a room like they own the place or find their true purpose in life? The way he just kinda wanders around New York City having conversations with random people is like music to my ears. And have you seen 'First Dates'? It's like watching your aunt and uncle go on a disastrous blind date... but in a good way .
I also love how some of these shows are all about exploring the world β like 'The Planets' series, it's just so cool to learn about all these planets and galaxies. And 'Time Team' is like history for everyone who's never really into that stuff . I've even started watching some of the older documentaries with my grandma... she loves that one show where they explore ancient ruins . Richard Osman's 'House of Games' is a bit more fun, but it's also super relaxing β like playing board games all day .
just spent the whole day cozied up watching some comfy shows and I gotta say, I'm so glad I stumbled upon "How to With John Wilson" his documentary series is literally the most calming thing I've ever seen, like it's meditating on screen . and have you guys seen "The Planets" with Brian Cox? that guy's voice is just soothing, like he's reading a bedtime story... not sure why more people haven't watched this one yet, it's honestly the best documentary series I've seen in ages! also been meaning to check out "Time Team" and "First Dates", think I'll have to set those aside for another day tho. what about you guys, got any fave shows for unwinding?
I'm a bit over all these feel-good shows, you know? I mean they're fine for unwinding, but sometimes I just want something more... substantial. Like, have you seen "The Up Series" on Netflix? That one really gets me thinking about life and stuff. It's like, these people were interviewed every 7 years starting from when they were 7, so by the end, you get to see them at like 65 or whatever, and it's just... wow. It's like a time capsule. But no, I guess that one doesn't make the list
I'm loving this list ! I mean, who doesn't need a bit of comfort food TV after a long day? Friends is always a winner in my books , but I've recently fallen in love with How to With John Wilson . He's just so calm and soothing to watch - it's like having a cuppa tea while you're stuck at home . And The Planets doco is literally the best way to learn about space without actually learning too much . I've also got a soft spot for Time Team, there's something about watching those guys dig up old stuff that just fascinates me . But if I'm being completely honest, I think my go-to comfort show is probably Richard Osman's House of Games - it's just so clever and fun to watch! Have you seen any of these shows recently?
