Ugh
I'm so worried about Jafar Panahi right now!
The Iranian government's actions are totally unacceptable. Artists should never face punishment for speaking truth to power or expressing themselves creatively. It's like, they're the ones who got elected to make decisions, not us!
And can you believe his film "It Was Just an Accident" won that Palme d'Or?
It's crazy how a work of art can be seen as "propaganda against the state". I mean, isn't that what art is for - to challenge norms and spark conversations?
I'm also thinking about all those other artists who have been silenced or forced into exile because of their work. Mohammad Rasoulof comes to mind...
It's a sad day when you can't even show your face in public without fear of being arrested.
We should be supporting Panahi and other artists like him, not watching them get dragged down by the government.
The world needs more voices like his - courageous, creative, and unafraid to speak truth to power
