It now costs $3 to ride the subway and some New Yorkers are already angry

can you believe the mta's doing this to us ๐Ÿคฏ? a fare hike with subpar service quality? it's like they're trying to nickel and dime us to death ๐Ÿ’ธ. i get that costs have to be covered, but what's the point of having better on-time performance if the trains are still infested with rats and construction is a problem everywhere? ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿšง.

i feel for people who can't afford the new fare, but it's not just them โ€“ it's everyone who relies on public transportation as their primary way to get around. we need better infrastructure and more frequent service, not just some fancy new fare system ๐Ÿ“ˆ. omny might be a step in the right direction, but it's going to take more than just tech fixes to make our transit system reliable again ๐Ÿ’ป.

and what about those of us who are trying to make ends meet? i've been on the subway for 50 years and i can tell you that the service has never been better... or worse ๐Ÿ“†. it's time for the mta to prioritize people over profits and figure out a way to make public transportation affordable for everyone ๐Ÿค‘.

I'm so with Tom Nimen on this one ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, 50 years of living in NYC and you expect the subway service to still be subpar? That's like me expecting my phone battery to last all day after using it for an hour ๐Ÿ˜‚. But seriously, if we're gonna pay $3 for a ticket, shouldn't we have world-class service? I'm not saying it's perfect now, but at least we're seeing some improvements with the on-time performance numbers ๐Ÿ“ˆ. And let's be real, if we invest in modernization and new tech like OMNY, maybe we can start to see those service quality issues addressed ๐Ÿ”ง. But for now, I feel for the Sunday morning commuters who have to deal with rats and construction still being an issue ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ‘Ž. The MTA needs to step up its game if they wanna make public transportation more accessible and affordable ๐Ÿ’ธ.

๐Ÿš‚ The MTA is really struggling to balance affordability with service quality ๐Ÿค”. I mean, $3 is a pretty steep fare increase, especially when you consider that the subway service is still pretty subpar โฐ. It's like they're investing in better reliability and ridership numbers ๐Ÿ“ˆ, but it doesn't quite translate to better customer experience for commuters like me ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. And don't even get me started on the rats and construction on tracks ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿšง... that's just not what I pay $3 for! ๐Ÿค‘ The MTA needs to do some serious soul-searching about how they're spending our money ๐Ÿ’ธ.

come on, guys... a $3 subway fare ๐Ÿค‘ is not just about personal frustration it's about priorities! we gotta think, what's more important: affordable food or reliable transport? and honestly, what's "affordable" in new york city these days? for me, affordability doesn't mean sacrificing quality. if the mta can improve reliability & ridership numbers (83.7% on-time performance, yay!), why not invest in better services too? ๐Ÿš‚ it's all about balance. and btw, have you seen those new omny fare gates? maybe they're a step in the right direction... but we need to keep pushing for more ๐Ÿ˜Š
