Jenny McCarthy's Jaw-Dropping Struggle: 'I Had To Eat Soft Foods Only'
Comedian and actress Jenny McCarthy is speaking out about her harrowing health struggle, which left her with a deep bone infection that caused her teeth to fall out and painful growths on her eyeballs. The 53-year-old revealed in an interview with People that she underwent nine mouth surgeries this year alone, chipping into her jawbone that led to the infection.
McCarthy, who has been on antibiotics for over a year, had to eat soft foods only due to the extensive dental work. However, even after taking the photos for her and husband Donnie Wahlberg's holiday card, she still required additional surgeries. "I've been pretty unlucky," she said, attributing her slender frame to not being able to really eat because of a mouthful of stitches.
The actress shared a photo from their holiday card, where she looked trim in a red bikini, but noted that even then, she was still under the weather. "It's been a little tricky-wicky getting together," McCarthy said, explaining that she's been busy shooting "The Masked Singer" in Los Angeles while Wahlberg's been in Canada for his police drama, "Boston Blue."
Despite the challenges, McCarthy is now on the mend and excited to spend more time with her husband. She shared that she's looking forward to finally being able to eat all the festive holiday dishes, particularly the traditional French's green bean casserole. The couple has a family tradition of making it on holidays, which they continued after marrying.
McCarthy's health scare highlights the importance of seeking medical attention when symptoms persist or worsen over time. The actress's resilience and determination are an inspiration to fans, as she navigates this difficult period and looks forward to enjoying quality time with her loved ones during the holiday season.
