LA 2028 Olympics chief Casey Wasserman has expressed "deep regret" for decades-old flirtatious emails he exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell, the associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games made the statement after millions of files related to Epstein were released by the US Department of Justice last week, which included Wasserman's messages to Maxwell sent in 2003.
One exchange showed that Wasserman expressed a desire to meet Maxwell wearing a tight leather outfit.
Wasserman denied ever having a personal or business relationship with Epstein and stated he was part of a humanitarian trip on an Epstein plane in 2002.
While the files do not show any wrongdoing by those involved, they have raised questions for those associated with the financier, particularly Wasserman.
Ghislaine Maxwell agreed to testify under oath before the congressional committee investigating the federal government's handling of the Epstein files last month.
The committee has also summoned former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to testify in connection with Epstein's case.
