Louvre heist suspects to be charged, jewels not recovered: Paris prosecutor

Paris Public Prosecutor Laure Beccuau has announced that two suspects in custody over the brazen Louvre Museum heist will be charged with "organized robbery". The arrests came after a massive manhunt, and investigators claim to have made major progress in solving the case. However, the stolen jewels remain missing.

Beccuau revealed during a news conference on Wednesday that both suspects are from the Paris suburb of Seine-Saint-Denis, as previously reported. They were arrested last weekend, with one suspect apprehended at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport and the other near his home.

According to Beccuau, if convicted, the two suspects will face up to 15 years in prison and heavy fines. She also stated that both suspects have partially admitted their involvement in the events to investigators.

The investigation team has been able to link a scooter used in the heist with DNA found on a window at the Louvre, helping them identify the suspects. However, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional accomplices involved in the heist.

One suspect was arrested without a return ticket as he attempted to leave France, and Beccuau confirmed that he had been convicted of previous robbery cases. The second suspect is a taxi driver who has also previously faced conviction for aggravated robberies in 2008 and 2014.

man I dont get why the jewels are still missing lol ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ these suspects seem like they're telling the truth too but the loot's gone ๐Ÿ’ธ what's the deal? shouldnt the police have that by now? ๐Ÿ˜•

I'm low-key relieved they caught these two suspects already ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป, but like, where are the stolen jewels tho? ๐Ÿค” I mean, you gotta respect the investigators for getting major progress on the case, though ๐Ÿ’ช. It's crazy that they linked a scooter to DNA at the Louvre - that's some serious detective work ๐Ÿ”! And, tbh, it's even more surprising that both suspects have partially admitted their involvement ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ... I guess you never know what people will do when faced with the law ๐Ÿ˜…. Still, 15 years in prison is a pretty harsh sentence for most people - can't help but wonder if they were trying to send a message ๐Ÿ’”.

I'm glad they finally caught the two suspects, but I still can't help feeling a bit frustrated about those stolen jewels ๐Ÿ˜”. It's just not fair that some of these priceless art pieces are gone forever. I mean, can you imagine if someone broke into your house and stole all your family heirlooms? You'd be heartbroken for days, right?

I think the fact that they were able to link a scooter to the heist with DNA from a window is pretty clever ๐Ÿค“. But what really gets me is that there might still be additional accomplices involved ๐Ÿ’ก. It's like, where does it end? It's just not good enough to catch just two people and let everyone else off scot-free.

I'm also curious about the fact that one of the suspects was arrested without a return ticket ๐Ÿ˜‚. I mean, isn't that just common sense for someone trying to leave the country with stolen goods? Anyway, at least the investigation team is making progress, so fingers crossed they can recover some or all of those stolen jewels ๐Ÿคž

omg I'm kinda surprised they're charging them with "organized robbery" already ๐Ÿค” considering the loot's still missing... I feel like we should've seen more concrete evidence before moving forward with this, but hey, progress is progress! ๐Ÿ’ช it's also crazy to think those suspects are from Seine-Saint-Denis - guess you never really know who's hiding in plain sight ๐Ÿ˜ anyway, at least they're facing serious consequences if convicted... 15 years in the slammer isn't something to be taken lightly ๐Ÿš”

Man, this Louvre Museum heist thingy is getting solved ๐Ÿคฏ! I'm glad to see the authorities making progress, it's been ages since those jewels went missing ๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ. And now we know who the culprits are - two from Seine-Saint-Denis, what a coincidence ๐Ÿ‘€. I feel bad for them though, 15 years in prison is no joke ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

But come on, one guy gets caught trying to leave France without a ticket? ๐Ÿ˜‚ That's some serious red flag ๐Ÿšจ. And the other guy, a taxi driver with a history of robberies... how did they miss that ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I'm sure they'll get their just desserts in court ๐Ÿ’ผ.

Still, it's nice to see justice being served and those priceless jewels going back where they belong - the Louvre Museum ๐Ÿ›๏ธ! Now if you ask me, who do you think might've been behind this all along? ๐Ÿ”

OMG, can you believe it? Those two suspects are finally caught! I mean, I know they're gonna get charged with organized robbery, but like, at least we got our stolen jewels back... sorta ๐Ÿค”. But for real, the whole investigation was so intense! Like, DNA evidence and scooter links... that's some serious detective work right there ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ. And can you even imagine trying to leave France without a return ticket?๐Ÿ˜‚ I mean, I've had some awkward airport experiences in my time, but that takes the cake ๐ŸŽ‚. Anyway, justice will be served, and let's hope they get the max sentence ๐Ÿ’ฏ. By the way, have you seen those new security cameras at the Louvre? They're like, super high-tech ๐Ÿ“บ... we need more of those in all our museums!

๐Ÿค” I'm not surprised that the authorities were able to crack this case so quickly, considering the extensive resources at their disposal. However, I do find it intriguing that the suspects were able to partially confess their involvement without revealing the whereabouts of the stolen jewels. It's almost as if they're trying to maintain a level of plausible deniability. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ The fact that one suspect was arrested without a return ticket and had a history of robbery convictions makes me think that the investigation team is looking for more accomplices involved in the heist. I'd love to see some further analysis on how they were able to link the scooter's DNA to the window at the Louvre, that must have been some clever forensic work ๐Ÿ”.

Just another reminder how much we take for granted the culture & history our museums keep for us ๐Ÿคฏ. It's heartbreaking to see these priceless jewels go missing, no matter how long it takes to get them back ๐Ÿ’”. 15 years is still a bit too short for someone who's done this before, you know?

so yeah, finally some progress on this super high-profile museum heist case ๐Ÿค๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ i mean, it's not like they're just gonna let the thieves walk away with a gazillion dollars worth of jewels ๐Ÿ˜’ beccuau seems like she knows what she's doing too, charging them with organized robbery makes sense. but, honestly, can't we just get some CCTV footage from that scooter to figure out who was driving it? ๐Ÿšฒ๐Ÿ‘€ and what about the missing loot? is it really possible they just "lost" all those jewels? ๐Ÿค‘ i guess time will tell...

OMG I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that those stolen jewels are just... gone ๐Ÿคฏ It's like, I get it, the suspects are getting charged with organized robbery and all, but can't they at least give us some leads on where the loot is? I mean, 15 years in prison is a pretty harsh sentence for a crime that doesn't even result in the recovery of any stolen goods ๐Ÿ˜’. And what's up with these guys' backgrounds - one of them was caught trying to leave France without a return ticket?! Like, what were you thinking? ๐Ÿšซ

omg i feel so bad for those stolen jewels tho they're like literally priceless ๐Ÿคฏ i mean i've heard of people getting all excited about some new designer handbag or whatever, but these are like ancient artifacts we're talking! anyway i'm glad the cops were able to make progress on the case tho it's crazy how a scooter and DNA helped identify those suspects - seems like a pretty standard procedure now that they use those forensic apps ๐Ÿ“ฑ idk about the whole organized robbery thing tho - feels kinda harsh for 15 years max? seems like they're getting off pretty easy ๐Ÿ˜

I just can't believe how brazen the Louvre Museum heist was ๐Ÿคฏ! I mean, stealing priceless jewels from one of the world's most famous museums? It's like something out of a movie! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ And now that two suspects are in custody, it's almost satisfying to see them brought to justice. But at the same time, I'm still so frustrated that the stolen jewels are just... gone ๐Ÿ™„.

You know who would freak out if someone stole from their locker or backpack? Us school kids! ๐Ÿ˜‚ We'd be totally freaking out, right? I mean, can you imagine having a priceless artifact like the Mona Lisa just vanish into thin air?! It's wild to think about how much emotional and financial value those jewels hold for the people of France. ๐Ÿคฏ Anyway, I'm glad that Beccuau is taking this case seriously and cracking down on organized robbery - we should all be supporting our law enforcement in these kinds of situations! ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค” This case is like the ultimate "whodunit" - we've got our suspects, but no jewels to prove it was even them who did it ๐Ÿค‘. I mean, 15 years in prison isn't too shabby for just organized robbery, but still... it's a bit harsh considering they're basically saying 'sorry not sorry' ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. And what's with the DNA link on a scooter? Like, isn't that just basic surveillance skills ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ? Still, I guess it's progress and all that ๐Ÿ˜Š. Just hope the authorities don't let these two fly too high - we need to catch those potential accomplices ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ!

omg I'm literally freaking out over here!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ so the Louvre museum heist was like super brazen and now they got these two suspects from Seine-Saint-Denis and they're gonna get up to 15 yrs in prison which is insane tbh... i mean I'm happy justice will be served but can we talk about how these guys managed to swipe those jewels without anyone noticing? ๐Ÿค” like what was their plan? And btw one of them was arrested at Charles de Gaulle airport w/o a return ticket lol sounds like they didn't think that one through ๐Ÿšซ anyway I'm just glad the investigation is making progress and hopefully they'll catch the rest of the accomplices involved ๐Ÿ’ก

Ugh, can't even believe these 2 clowns managed to swipe those priceless jewels without getting caught for ages! I mean, who tries to leave France without a ticket? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Sounds like they thought they could just outrun the law... meanwhile, we're still waiting for the recovered goods. Like, what's the point of even charging them with organized robbery if the loot's gone missing?! Still can't fathom how DNA on a window at the Louvre led to these two, though - that's some fancy detective work right there ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”Ž

Omg ๐Ÿคฏ I'm so relieved that the police were able to make some major progress on this case! I mean, think about it, they've already linked a scooter to DNA at the Louvre, which is like, super smart detective work ๐Ÿง And that both suspects have partially admitted to their involvement? That's like, huge step forward for justice ๐Ÿ˜Œ Plus, up to 15 years in prison for them? That's not too shabby either ๐Ÿค It's just a shame those stolen jewels are still MIA ๐Ÿ’Ž But hey, at least we know the perpetrators were smart enough (or desperate enough?) to leave some clues behind ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole Louvre museum heist thing ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’Ž. I mean, I get it, some people are just really passionate about art and willing to take risks, but come on! A scooter with DNA on it? That's like finding a digital breadcrumb trail that leads you straight to the suspects' doorstep ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ‘. And those accomplice possibilities still got me wondering... what if there's someone else in the shadows pulling the strings?

Here's a simple flowchart to sum up my thoughts:
```
+----------------+
| Heist Occurs |
+----------------+
|
| DNA evidence
v
+----------------+ +----------------+
| Suspects Caught| | Accomplice? |
+----------------+ +----------------+
| |
| Up to 15 years |
| in prison |
+----------------+
```
I'm just glad that some justice is being served and the suspects are facing charges ๐Ÿ˜Œ. But I guess we'll have to wait and see if they're fully guilty or if there's more to this story ๐Ÿค”.

I think the authorities are getting a bit too comfy with charging these two guys with "organized robbery" even though they've only partially admitted to being involved ๐Ÿ˜. I mean, it's not like they confessed to the entire heist, but still... The fact that one of them was caught at Charles de Gaulle Airport trying to leave France without a return ticket is a pretty big clue ๐Ÿšซ. And both of them have prior convictions - what makes you think the rest of this crew didn't get caught? It's like they're setting a precedent for "just enough" evidence, you know?
