A 78-year-old man was found dead with a gunshot wound to his chest in a home on South Lamon Avenue in Garfield Ridge late Tuesday evening, authorities announced.
According to Chicago police, Marvin Cook was discovered at around 8:01 p.m. in the 4500 block of the street. The medical examiner confirmed that the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the chest. Unfortunately, Cook succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, with no suspects or arrests made as of now.
