Man accused of repeatedly stabbing taxi driver in Bronx turns himself in to NYPD

Bronx Man Surrenders in Taxi Driver Stabbing Case: Charges Filed Against Suspect

A 56-year-old Bronx resident, Darin Dominick, has surrendered to the NYPD after repeatedly stabbing a taxi driver, Osei Kusi, in an incident that left the cabby severely injured. According to authorities, Dominick turned himself in to the 43rd Precinct on Wednesday morning, just over two weeks after the alleged attack.

The crime occurred on November 26 at a red light near Randall Avenue and White Plains Road in Clason Point. Kusi, a Bronx man who immigrated from Ghana eight years ago, was driving his taxi when Dominick allegedly approached him with a baseball bat. The driver tried to de-escalate the situation by pleading for peace, but Dominick continued to assault him, striking Kusi multiple times with an unknown sharp object.

The victim suffered severe injuries, including multiple puncture wounds that required stitches and staples, and spent several days in the hospital, falling in and out of consciousness. His family has been visiting him every day since the incident, according to the New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers.

Dominick has been charged with attempted murder, as well as assault, harassment, and weapons offenses related to the incident. His attorney claims that Dominick denies any wrongdoing, but the evidence against him is based on video surveillance footage and witness accounts.

The taxi federation said it had secured compensation for Kusi through a workers benefit fund and praised the work of police in bringing the investigation to a turning point before Dominick surrendered. With his arrest, the city may finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief that this senseless attack has been brought to justice. However, the organization will continue to push for full accountability to prevent such incidents from happening again.

πŸ˜• just another crazy day in NYC... how's it even possible for someone to stab a taxi driver like that?! 🀯 Osei Kusi is lucky to be alive, and I hope he makes a speedy recovery πŸ’¨. But seriously, what's going on with people's tempers these days? Can't we all just get along? 😩 I'm glad the police were able to catch Dominick so quickly and the taxi federation is pushing for more accountability... we gotta do better as a community 🀝.

I'm not surprised he did it lol 🀣. I mean, who just attacks someone with a baseball bat at a red light? What's next? Like, if you're having a bad day, just go stab some random person and call it a day, right? πŸ˜‚ This guy was literally crazy for a second 🀯. And yeah, the police finally caught him, about two weeks after he did it. About time, tbh πŸ‘Ž. I don't know how much more of this nonsense we're gonna see in this city, though. It's just getting ridiculous πŸ™„.

This case is like what's going on with our economy - people are getting desperate and it's leading to violent outbursts. I mean, think about it, a guy with no job security, facing homelessness... that's a recipe for disaster! 🀯 We need to address the root causes of poverty, mental health issues, and lack of access to education. This is not just about one person, Darin Dominick, but about a system that's failing us. The fact that he turned himself in is a good start, but we need to work on preventing these situations from happening in the first place. We should be investing more in our community programs and services for those who are struggling. It's time for us to come together and find solutions, not just punishment! πŸ’ͺ

man... thinkin' about this incident makes me wonder what drives someone to hurt another human being like that 🀯. it's like, we're all just tryin' to get from point A to point B, right? and then suddenly there's this guy with a baseball bat, just goin' crazy on some poor taxi driver... what's goin' through his head, you know? is he desperate? is he lost? is he just plain ol' evil? πŸ€” and what about Kusi, the victim? he was just tryin' to do his job, take people where they need to go, and this happens to him... it's like, what kind of world are we livin' in if someone can just assault another person for no reason at all? 😩 anyway, I guess justice has been served now that Dominick's turned himself in, but the question remains: how do we prevent these kinds of incidents from happenin' again? πŸ’‘

πŸš¨πŸ’― I'm thinking about the guy who stabbed the taxi driver and it's just crazy how he thought he could get away with it. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ The victim is still recovering in the hospital and his family has been visiting him every day, that's really touching. 😊 The video surveillance footage must have been super helpful in catching the guy, I mean, who tries to fight a taxi driver? πŸš—πŸ˜‚ But seriously, attempted murder charges are no joke, Darin Dominick needs to face the consequences of his actions.

The NYC taxi federation is doing an amazing job advocating for their drivers and pushing for accountability. It's not just about the victim, it's about making sure this doesn't happen again. 🚫πŸ’ͺ I'm glad the police were able to bring the investigation to a close and that justice has been served. Now let's hope Dominick gets some help and rehabilitation. 🀞

πŸ€• I'm so worried about Osei Kusi and his family πŸ™... 56 years old is way too young for someone to be going through this πŸ’”. The fact that he just surrendered after two weeks, but still left the taxi driver with severe injuries πŸ€•, it's just crazy.

You know what really gets me? 😑 People think they can just approach someone and start stabbing them because of some random anger or whatever 🚫. Like, what is wrong with people today?! It's like we're forgetting how to resolve conflicts in a civilized way πŸ’”.

And the worst part is that it happened at a red light, so there were tons of witnesses πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. I just hope the justice system delivers and gets Darin Dominick held accountable for his actions 😑. We need to do better as a society to prevent this kind of thing from happening again πŸ’ͺ.

I'm glad that Osei's family got some compensation through the taxi federation πŸ‘... at least they'll be able to focus on their loved one getting better instead of worrying about how they're gonna pay for everything 🀝.

I don't think it's fair to jump all over Darin Dominick just yet πŸ€”. I mean, sure, he stabbed a taxi driver and that's super violent and unacceptable. But we need to consider the circumstances too. What if Dominick was going through some tough stuff and snapped? Was it really his fault or were there other factors at play? His defense attorney says he denies everything, so let's not just assume the worst πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. And can we talk about how the taxi federation is looking out for Kusi? They're securing compensation and supporting him through this tough time, that's really admirable ❀️. We need to focus on prevention and support rather than just harsh punishment all the time πŸ’ͺ.

Ugh, can u believe this dude had the nerve 2 stab that taxi driver like 5 times?! 🀯 I mean, I know people can get pretty aggressive in a fight but stabbing someone is just insane! 😱 The fact that he was armed with a baseball bat and still thought a stick or whatever was gonna be enough to take down a grown man is just crazy. And the victim had to spend days in the hospital too... poor guy's family must've been going through hell visiting him every day like that πŸ€• Anyway, glad they caught this psycho, but it's still super disturbing to think about what coulda happened if they hadn't gotten the video footage & witness accounts. Can we just get some more community programs to help people deal with their anger issues before things escalate? πŸ’‘

this is just crazy what happened to osei kusi he must've been shaking so bad he couldn't even drive πŸš•πŸ˜± and darin dominick is like 56 years old wow he's older than the taxi he's driving now anyway good that he surrendered hopefully he gets some serious time for this 🀞

man... this is just awful 😱 what's going on with people these days? like, you're driving down the street and suddenly some psycho comes out of nowhere with a baseball bat? it's crazy! and that poor taxi driver, osei kusi... he was just trying to do his job and make a living... doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. i'm glad the police were able to catch dominick and get him charged for all these crimes, but like... what can we even do to prevent this stuff from happening again? are there any programs or initiatives that can help people who might be struggling with anger issues or mental health problems? πŸ’”

Man I'm so sick about this taxi driver stabbing case πŸ€•... can't believe someone would do that to another human being. The victim's family must be going through hell right now 😩. It's crazy that the suspect was at large for weeks just chillin' while his dadgum life went on hold. Now the police got him and hopefully he'll face some real consequences βš–οΈ. But what really gets me is the system, man... how could this happen in the first place? I mean, we gotta work towards preventing these senseless attacks so people can feel safe on the streets again 🌎. And yeah, it's good that the taxi federation got him some compensation, but that's not gonna bring back the trauma and pain he went through πŸ˜”.

omg u gotta feel bad 4 osei kusi πŸ€• he's still recoverin from those stab wounds & now this dude darin dominick is free in a few days lol like what even is the point of havin a justice system if u can just surrender after two weeks πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ the video footage must've been super clear tho or else his lawyer wouldn't be denyin nothin πŸ˜’ anyway, hope osei gets back 2 normal life soon & that police actually catch people like this before they hurt someone more πŸ’”

omg did u see dat video of darin dominick gettin all stabby on osei kusi?! 😲🚨 like what is wrong wit dis guy?? 56 yrs old & he just went wild on some poor taxi driver... i feel so bad for kusi, he's a hero 4 stayin calm n tryna de-escalate the situation. i hope dominick gets max time behind bars 🀯 this senseless violence gotta stop n we gotta support our taxi drivers πŸ‘Š

Ugh I'm still shook by this whole thing 🀯🚨 what's going on with people these days?! A 56-year-old man stabbing a taxi driver in the face and then turning himself in after TWO WEEKS?! πŸ™„ it's like, what even is wrong with you?! 😭 Darin Dominick needs to be locked up for life, no question 🚫 his actions are despicable and put an innocent man through hell. I can only imagine how traumatic this must have been for Osei Kusi and his family πŸ‘ͺπŸ’” the video surveillance footage doesn't do justice to the severity of the situation either... it's like a nightmare come true 😱 anyway, glad that the police were able to track him down and bring some closure to this case πŸ™ but seriously, what can we do to prevent these kinds of senseless attacks from happening in the future?! We need more support for victims and their families, and we need to hold people like Dominick accountable for their actions πŸ’ͺ

Man, I'm still shook by the whole taxi driver stabbing thing 🀯... like, what's wrong with people? Can't believe some dude just goes around attacking innocent folks on the streets. And to think about Osei Kusi being in hospital for days, that's just heartbreaking πŸ˜”. I mean, I know Darin Dominick turned himself in, but it's still crazy how long it took him to do so. Two weeks is way too long for someone who committed a serious crime like that. Anyway, glad the police were able to bring him in and the taxi federation is pushing for accountability, hope they can make some real change πŸ™.

OMG, like, what's wrong with people?! 🀯 This guy Darin Dominick is literally sick for attacking Osei Kusi like that! 😑 And to think he just turned himself in after two weeks... like, good job on getting caught, I guess? πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ But seriously, 56 years old and still got a baseball bat out of nowhere? What's his problem?! πŸ€” And poor Osei Kusi, I hope he gets better soon! ❀️ The fact that the taxi driver tried to talk him down and it didn't work is just heartbreaking... 😭 Anyways, glad justice has been served and the city can finally feel safe again 😌.
