A 45-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds during a violent altercation at Manhattan's Union Square subway station on Wednesday morning. According to NYPD officials, the incident began as a dispute between two riders on an L train, which escalated into a physical confrontation.
The fight spilled out onto the platform, where officers responding to a 911 call found the victim with several stab wounds to his back. Despite being seriously injured, the man was transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. The suspect allegedly fled the scene on the same L train, wearing a black coat.
