Marat Khusnutdinov scores in OT, Morgan Geekie has goal in 6th straight as Bruins beat Sabres 4-3

The Boston Bruins have secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres, with Marat Khusnutdinov notching the game-winning goal in overtime.

Khusnutdinov's marker came at the 2:07 mark of extra time, as the Bruins took advantage of a Sabres' defensive lapse to net the decisive score. The assist on the winner went to Morgan Geekie, who has now scored in six consecutive games.

Joonas Korpisalo made 37 saves for the Boston Bruins, helping his team secure its third win in four games. The Bruins' victory marked their first win over Buffalo this season.

Despite a late surge from the Sabres, the Bruins' offense proved to be too much for goaltender Alex Galchenyuk to handle. Boston's goal parade began early, with Geekie opening the scoring just 1:01 into the game.

omg i'm loving this trade deadline move by the bruins! securing marat khusnutdinov is a huge win for them, especially after all those losses last season . their team has really turned around and now they're on a 3-game winning streak, who's to say they can't keep it up?

I'm so stoked about this one ️! The Bruins' comeback was pure magic . I mean, they were down by a goal and still managed to score like crazy . Their defense was on point too - all those saves from Korpisalo were crucial .

But what really caught my eye was Geekie's scoring streak . Six in a row is crazy! And Khusnutdinov's OT winner? That was the icing on the cake . I love how the Bruins' offense can just take over when they need to .

I'm still not sure what the Sabres were thinking with that defensive lapse , but you've got to give credit where credit is due - Boston was on fire !

Bruins were on fire tonight! They played so smart and their goalie was absolute boss Korpisalo made some crazy saves but he couldn't keep up with Boston's offense I love how Morgan Geekie is on fire 6 goals in a row? That's insane! And Marat Khusnutdinov's OT winner was clutch The Sabres had some great chances too, but ultimately they just couldn't get that one goal Can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings for these two teams

I'm surprised they didn't get blown out ... I mean, who needs a close win when you can take it to overtime? The Sabres should've made some adjustments if they wanted to stop those Bruins . Khusnutdinov's goal is cool and all, but Morgan Geekie is just riding his hot streak right now - what's gonna happen when he cools off?

I mean come on... they should've been up by 2-3 goals by now if their D didn't let them down . And what's with all these goalies who can't even get a decent night's sleep, huh? Korpisalo was solid but I'm surprised he didn't get more than 37 saves considering the Sabres were playing so sloppy . But hey, win is a win and all that jazz... still weird they got outplayed by the Sabres at home though .

OMG u guys i'm literally so hyped about that Bruins game ! I was on the edge of my seat when Khusnutdinov scored in overtime lol I was screaming at my screen "GOAL GOAL GOAL" and my fam thought I had lost it . But for real though, Morgan Geekie is on fire right now! six games straight with a goal . And Joonas Korpisalo is literally the best thing since sliced bread his 37 saves were insane. I'm so glad the Bruins won this one it was their first win over Buffalo all season. I feel like they really needed that one .

I'm loving how intense that overtime was ! Khusnutdinov is a beast on ice and that assist from Geekie is fire . The Sabres have been struggling this season and I think this loss will motivate them to get their act together. Boston's offense is looking fierce, but the defense has been shaky at times... hope they step it up soon
