Meta’s new wearables trade-in program gives you Ray-Ban and Oakley discounts

Meta Unveils Trade-In Program for Ray-Ban and Oakley Smart Glasses, Offers Discounts on AirPods Pro Earbuds

In a surprise move, Meta has launched a trade-in program for its smart glasses, including the popular Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 and Oakley Meta HSTN models. The program allows customers to exchange their current pair of first-gen Ray-Ban Meta glasses or other eligible earbuds for a discount.

As part of the pilot program, which is only available until December 31st, Meta is offering trade-in discounts on select smart glasses and AirPods Pro earbuds. Discounts vary based on device condition but can be as high as $113 off, providing a significant dent in the usual price tag of around $379 for the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2.

Eligible smart glasses include the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, Oakley Meta HSTN, and Oakley Meta Vanguard. However, limited edition and refurbished models are not eligible for the trade-in discount.

The program also includes select AirPods Pro earbuds from Apple, including the latest AirPods Pro 2 model, as well as previous generations of the product line. It's worth noting that there is currently no official "AirPods Pro 4" model, so it's unclear if Meta was referring to a different version of the earbuds.

To take advantage of the trade-in program, customers must purchase their glasses directly from Meta. The discount should be applied automatically when adding an eligible pair to the cart, although some Reddit users have reported having to try different browsers to see the offer.

Overall, Meta's new trade-in program provides a convenient way for customers to upgrade or replace their smart glasses and AirPods Pro earbuds, offering significant discounts on select models.

omg u guys! 🤯 meta just dropped this crazy trade-in program for ray-ban & oakley smart glasses!!! they're literally giving u up to $113 off 2 upgrade ur old pair or get some new ones!! i'm def trying it out, who's with me? 🤩 also can't believe the airpod pro 2 is part of this deal lol apple better step their game up! 💸

🤯 just heard about this crazy deal from my friends who got their hands on it! Meta is letting you trade in your old smart glasses or earbuds for some serious cash 💸 I mean, we're talking up to $113 off the price of a new pair of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2s 🕶️ that's like, a major win for anyone who wants to level up their smart glass game! And if you're in the market for new AirPods Pro earbuds anyway, now's the perfect time to cop them at a discount 🎁 I'm totally signing up for this program ASAP... has anyone else tried it out yet? 💬

I'm loving this move from Meta! It's about time they sweetened the deal for us smart glass enthusiasts 🤩. I mean, who doesn't want a discount on those fancy shades? The trade-in program is like a Christmas miracle for people looking to level up their glasses game 💼. And can we talk about how convenient it is to get rid of old gear and cop new stuff? I'm all about upgrading my tech and saving some cash in the process 🤑. The fact that they're offering AirPods Pro earbuds too is just the cherry on top 🎁. Now, if only they'd make those glasses compatible with Android devices... a guy can dream 😂.

I'm kinda stoked about this trade-in program but at the same time I think it's kinda weird that they're only making some devices eligible for discount. Like what's up with that? 🤔 I mean if you've got a sweet pair of Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2s and they want to upgrade, shouldn't they be able to trade in their old ones for a new pair? It's like, why the exclusions? And don't even get me started on the limited edition models... who gets to decide what's "limited" anyway? 🤑 I guess it's all about the benjamins, huh? The $113 discount is pretty sweet but I'm still salty about the hoops they're making customers jump through. Ugh, trade-in programs are just so confusing! 😩

🤔 I'm actually kinda stoked about this trade-in program! I've been eyeing the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 for ages but it's a bit out of my budget. This deal is like, exactly what I needed to make up my mind 🤑. Plus, who doesn't love getting some cash back? I just hope they don't discontinue those AirPods Pro earbuds soon, that would be a total bummer 😔. And can you imagine having an old pair of smart glasses just collecting dust on your shelf? No thanks! This is like a good way to breathe new life into them 💻👍

I'm loving this move by Meta! It's like they're trying to show us that even in the tech world, it's all about accessibility and flexibility for the people 🤝. I mean, who doesn't love a good trade-in program? But let's not forget, this is also an opportunity for them to gauge consumer demand and behavior before making any major moves on their product line.

It got me thinking, though - what if other companies follow suit? Would that be a sign of a bigger trend towards sustainable consumption in the tech industry? We've been talking about reducing electronic waste, but it seems like these big players are starting to take steps in that direction. It's all about balance, right? They're not just looking out for their own interests, they're also trying to make things more affordable and convenient for us consumers 📈.

🤔 The launch of this trade-in program by Meta is an astute move, particularly given the rise of augmented reality (AR) technology in recent years. By incentivizing customers to upgrade or replace their existing smart glasses and AirPods Pro earbuds, Meta can encourage more users to immerse themselves in its virtual world. The inclusion of limited-edition models, however, raises questions about fairness and accessibility. Is the program designed to benefit early adopters or create a barrier to entry for those seeking more affordable options? Moreover, how will this program impact the resale market for these devices? 📈

omg can you believe meta is doing this? 🤯 they're basically giving away a discount just for trading in ur old glasses 😂 but seriously its a great idea for ppl who wanna upgrade or get a new pair but dont wanna break the bank 💸 i mean, who wouldn't want 100 bucks off ur new smart glasses? 🎁 the only downside is that u gotta buy it from meta directly, which might be annoying for some ppl 🤷‍♀️ still, its a win-win for both customers and meta 🤑
