I gotta say, this whole situation with Edwin Diaz and the Mets is super interesting 
. I mean, Stearns is trying to break the mold here and invest in relief pitchers, which is definitely a bold move. But at the same time, it's hard to see how they can compete with the Dodgers' massive budget 
. The Dodgers just seem like they're gonna do whatever it takes to upgrade their bullpen, you know? And Diaz is one of the best ones out there right now

I'm a bit surprised that the Mets didn't try to match or exceed the Dodgers' offer, but I guess Stearns is trying to focus on getting value for his team rather than just throwing money at it
. Either way, I think Diaz is gonna end up in Dodger blue, and it's hard to blame him for that – the Dodgers are like the Yankees of LA, you know?
