Mummers String Band Competition Rescheduled for January 31 at Linc
The highly anticipated Mummers string band competition has been rescheduled to take place on Saturday, January 31st at Lincoln Financial Field. After being canceled earlier this year due to severe weather conditions that left several people hospitalized and destroyed props during rehearsals, the event is now set to go ahead as planned.
For the first time in its 120-year history, the competition was called off amidst strong winds and snow squalls that sent five individuals to the hospital. However, five brave string bands marched through the streets of Philadelphia in full costume, sans props, allowing the parade to proceed without a hitch.
The rescheduled event promises to be an exciting spectacle, with 14 talented string bands vying for top honors. The competition will feature a unique "mini musical" format, where each band performs four and a half-minute performances that incorporate elaborate props, scenery, and Broadway-style choreography.
Fans are now invited to attend the event in person at Lincoln Financial Field, where tickets are available starting at $12.15 for general admission on the lower level and $24.30 for the club level. The competition will also be broadcast live on WFMZ-TV and online, allowing those unable to attend to still enjoy the spectacle.

Finally! This thing is getting done! All that hype over cancelled, then rescheduled. Can't wait to see those bands go wild with their props and costumes!

, and i'm like totally torn between this sleek road bike and that more rugged mountain bike... have you guys ever gotten one of those for hiking? btw, did u hear about the weather conditions last time it was supposed to be held? 5 ppl hospitalized?! crazy! 
... i heard the new road bike has this insane carbon fiber frame and i'm all like "that's so fancy" 
But at the same time, it makes me wonder about our relationship with chaos - do we try to control it or just roll with the punches? Anyway, I'm hyped for the rescheduled event and hoping everyone has a blast! 
First it was cancelled due to bad weather and now it's been pushed back by a month... I mean, I get it, safety first and all that, but still! 
The Mummers are always so much fun to watch, and I've got my costume all picked out for the parade part 
. Now I'm just gonna have to wait another month before I can show it off. At least they're keeping us updated on the broadcast info, that's a plus 
. But at the same time, I've been waiting for this since last year and I really wanna see those string bands perform... it's gonna be lit

Tickets are pretty affordable too, so I'm planning on splurging and getting some for the club level
