NBC announces Cubs great Anthony Rizzo will be part of its MLB coverage

"NBC Gets Inside Track with MLB Coverage, Hires Cubs Legend Anthony Rizzo as Pregame Analyst"

In a move that's music to the ears of baseball fans nationwide, NBC Sports has announced its major expansion into Major League Baseball (MLB) coverage, with none other than Cubs great Anthony Rizzo leading the charge. Alongside Clayton Kershaw and Joey Votto, Rizzo will serve as a pregame analyst for NBC's MLB coverage, providing fresh insights to complement their on-field expertise.

Rizzo, a three-time All-Star and four-time Gold Glove winner, is no stranger to the spotlight – he was the face of the Cubs' 2016 World Series championship team, which ended an 108-year drought. His impressive stats in that postseason season only add to his credibility as an analyst.

NBC's new MLB coverage package, which includes Sunday night games and every wild-card series, marks a significant shift for the network. With this deal, NBC is set to become a major player in baseball broadcasting, with its games airing on a range of platforms including NBC, NBCSN, and streaming service Peacock.

As part of the announcement, NBC revealed that Rizzo will be involved in select pregame shows for "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcasts, as well as being a regular feature during the network's MLB coverage. With his unique perspective having come from the diamond to the analyst's chair, fans can expect Rizzo to bring an exciting new dimension to NBC's coverage.

With Opening Day just around the corner on March 26, baseball enthusiasts will have plenty of reasons to tune in and catch a glimpse of their favorite stars – including Rizzo – as they take to the field.

🤔 I'm not sure how great this is for baseball fans... I mean, it's cool that Anthony Rizzo is on board with NBC, but what about all the other talented analysts who aren't getting a free pass just because they're cute and charismatic? Clayton Kershaw and Joey Votto are already established experts in their field, so does Rizzo really bring something new to the table? And let's be real, we all know how the "experts" always spin things to make the team look good... it's gonna be a whole lot of hype 📺.

man, this is awesome news! I'm hyped for Anthony Rizzo joining NBC's MLB coverage 🤩, especially since he's still got that fire from his World Series days 🏆💥. The idea of him bringing his expertise and passion to the pregame shows sounds so cool 📺. And who wouldn't want to see Clayton Kershaw and Joey Votto alongside him too? 😎 it's like they're gonna give us an inside scoop on the game 🔍.

But, I gotta say, I'm a bit worried about NBC getting too cozy with MLB 🤝. We don't wanna lose that authentic feel of watching games live, you know? It's all about balance – they gotta make sure we get the best analysis and coverage without making it feel too scripted 😐.

Anyway, I'm stoked for Opening Day on March 26th ⚾️! Bring on the action, Rizzo, Kershaw, Votto, and everyone else 🎉.

lol at the idea of Anthony Rizzo being the face of NBC's MLB coverage lol 🤣 he's already got that rep from his Cubs days, now we gotta sit through his pregame rants 📺👀 I guess it's gonna be interesting to see him bring his expertise to the analyst chair tho 👊

This is so cool! I'm hyped that NBC got Anthony Rizzo on board, dude. He's like, super iconic for the Cubs and now he's gonna bring his expertise to the analyst chair? Mind blown! Clayton Kershaw and Joey Votto are already killing it on the field, but with Rizzo bringing in his insight, this is gonna be a whole new level of coverage. I'm imagining how epic Sunday Night Baseball pregame shows are gonna be 🤩 Can't wait for Opening Day, March 26th!

🤯 I mean, come on... Anthony Rizzo as a pregame analyst? I get it, he's a legend and all, but can't we get some actual baseball minds behind the desk instead of just another former player trying to be an expert? 🤔 I'm not saying Rizzo can't bring that Cubs magic to NBC's coverage, but what about people like Tony La Russa or Bobby Cox? They're the real deal when it comes to understanding the game. Plus, with all these new broadcast deals, we need some solid analysis to back them up... 😬

OMG you know what's been bugging me lately? I was at this coffee shop the other day and I saw the cutest pup in the window 🐶😍 it was a little Chihuahua with these big brown eyes just staring at me, I swear it wanted to come inside. Anyway, back to baseball... I love how NBC is expanding its coverage, can't wait to see Anthony Rizzo on air 💡 and that Sunday night games package sounds like a win 🎉 but have you tried that new Peacock streaming service? My sister swears by it, says her fave shows are way better than Netflix 📺

Man... think about it... sports and broadcasting are all about human connection, you know? People tuning in to watch athletes compete, but it's not just about the game itself, it's about what it means to us on a deeper level...
