Mamdani's been pretty hands-off so far but if he's gonna set boundaries then he should respect 'em too 
those new policies for affordable housing sound like a good start, let's see how they play out in practice 
. It's about time we see some actual collaboration between the Speaker and Mayor, especially with Menin pushing for interfaith leadership and Mamdani having had some... let's say "roverses" on antisemitism stuff 
. The idea of a perimeter barrier around sensitive locations is super sensible - I mean, who wants to have to worry about security all the time? It's like, can't we just focus on building affordable housing and making NYC more livable for everyone? Affordable housing is key 
. I'm all for Menin pushing her own agenda and not letting Mamdani dictate everything. This could be a fresh start for NYC, you know?
I'm loving Julie Menin's leadership style so far! 
She's all about unity and protecting our communities, especially houses of worship 
. Her plan for affordable housing is a great idea too 
- we need more units on public land ASAP! 
Building on library branches and vacant lots can bring in some fresh blood to the city 
. I'm also here for her "separating powers" vibe 
- no more tit for tat with previous administrations, that's just childish 
. Menin is all about implementing policies within the Council's authority, which means we'll see real change happen 
. Fast free buses and rent freeze are solid moves too

. I'm all for universal child care too - it's crazy how much of a difference that could make in families' lives 
. I hope Mamdani takes her proposal seriously and doesn't try to block everything she proposes

I mean, it's cool that she's callin' out her own man, Mayor Mamdani, on some of his decisions, but at the same time, I'm stoked to see her takin' charge and drivin' her own agenda .
. And let's be real, who doesn't want free buses and a rent freeze? Those are two big wins for this city.. She's establishin' herself as a leader in her own right, which is exactly what we need more of in NYC. Bring it on, Speaker Menin!
