Nigeria hit by second school abduction in less than a week

Bodies of Nigerian Schoolgirls Abducted by Armed Gangs Remain Unaccounted For

Armed gangs have kidnapped a yet-to-be confirmed number of students from St. Mary's Private (Catholic) Secondary School in Agwara local government area, according to the Niger State Government.

The attack comes just days after gunmen stormed another public secondary school in Kebbi state, abducting 25 schoolgirls, with one managing to escape and 24 still missing.

Security agencies have launched a rescue operation, deploying their tactical units and military personnel to comb through forests. The government has placed Nigerian security forces on high alert amid mounting international pressure on the country's security situation.

This is not the first time the nation has faced violent attacks on civilians, with incidents of kidnappings and church bombings drawing attention from world leaders, including US President Donald Trump. In recent weeks, he had threatened military action over what he described as targeted killings of Nigeria's Christians, a narrative rejected by the Nigerian government.

However, the situation remains dire, with several schools and churches across the country experiencing similar incidents. The exact number of abducted pupils at St. Mary's School has yet to be confirmed, but security agencies are working tirelessly to locate them.

🌫️ this is so messed up ... like how can something like this happen in our world? we gotta do more to protect these kids πŸ€•... and what's up with all the gun violence lately? it feels like every week there's another school or church attack πŸ“šπŸ’”... i don't think the goverment should be blamed though, that's not helping anything πŸ’ͺ... just need to find those girls and bring them home ASAP πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’•

my heart is literally breaking reading about this πŸ’” Nigerian schoolgirls being kidnapped again. it feels like we're living in a nightmare where the most innocent lives are lost. i keep thinking that there must be a way to bring these girls back home safely, but it's hard not to feel hopeless right now πŸ˜”. we need to come together as a global community and support Nigeria in any way we can - whether it's donating resources or just spreading awareness about what's happening. we can't give up on these young lives πŸ’ͺ

its so sad what happened in nigeria πŸ€• but im hopeful that the rescue op will find these girls soon πŸ’ͺ and the government is getting more support from the international community which might help them get a grip on this situation 🌎 also its good to see that schools are being protected now after all those attacks πŸ“š maybe we can learn from this and make sure our own schools are safe too 😊

ugh this is getting out of hand 🀯 what's going on in nigeria? these armed gangs just keep popping up and taking innocent kids hostage πŸ’” it's like the world is watching and doing nothing πŸ™„ first it was boko haram, then it was ISIS, now it's some new gang... can't we just get some peace and security for our schools and churches already?! πŸ€• i'm not saying the nigerian government isn't doing anything, but it feels like they're playing catch-up every time something bad happens 😩 i wish these countries would just work together to solve this problem instead of pointing fingers and making threats πŸ’” we need to see some real action here ⏱️

I'M SO SAD TO HEAR ABOUT THESE INNOCENT NIGERIAN SCHOOLGIRLS GETTING KIDNAPPED BY ARMED GANGS AGAIN πŸ€•πŸ˜’. IT'S LIKE, WHEN WERE WE GOING TO STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS SITUATION? CAN'T WE JUST FOCUS ON FINDING THESE LITTLE GIRLS AND KEEPING THEM SAFE?! 🀞 THE FACT THAT THEY'RE STILL MISSING IS SO HEARTBREAKING. I FEEL LIKE WE NEED TO DO MORE TO SUPPORT OUR AFRICAN FRIENDS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THIS. MAYBE WE COULD SEND IN SOME EXPERTS, OR EVEN JUST SOME KIND OF EMERGENCY FUND TO HELP THEIR FAMILIES COVER THE COST OF FINDING THESE GIRLS πŸ€‘πŸ’Έ. I KNOW IT'S NOT GOING TO BE EASY, BUT SOMEBODY'S GOTTA DO SOMETHING!

omg this is like right outta a bad movie you know back in 2014 those Chibok girls were kidnapped and it feels like we're reliving that trauma all over again πŸ€• the Niger state gov's got their hands full trying to deal with these armed gangs it's like they're getting more brazen by the day i mean what's next? schools getting taken over in broad daylight? 🚨 24 girls still missing from that Kebbi school, my heart goes out to them and their families its just not fair how many times do we have to see this before we act?

My heart goes out to those little girls, it's just heartbreaking thinking about their families searching for them with no news πŸ€•πŸ’”. It's like this is happening in a bad dream that we can't wake up from 😩. I feel so angry on behalf of the Nigerian people and especially these innocent kids who are going through so much trauma. Can you imagine being taken away from your friends, teachers, and home? It's just devastating 🀯. We need to keep praying for their safe return and for an end to this senseless violence πŸ’–.

omg 😱 this is gettin worse by the day! i cant believe theres still so many kids out ther who r in danger cuz of these armed gangs 🀯 and its not just nigeria thats losin people its happening all arond africa 🌍 like what r we doin to stop dis? we need 2 come together as a global community & support each other πŸ’– instead of just talkin bout it on social media πŸ“±. lets give these kids a chance @ them πŸ‘§πŸ½πŸ’ͺ

I'm getting really worried about these schoolgirls πŸ€•. How can this keep happening? First it was Kebbi state and now Agwara local government area... it feels like Nigeria is a target for these armed gangs πŸ˜•. I've seen the footage of those schools, they're just like any other school in Nigeria, full of students who deserve to learn and have a safe life.

The fact that the US President made this big deal about Nigerian Christians being targeted, but now we're hearing similar stories of violence... it's hard to see what's really going on πŸ€”. I think security agencies need more resources and support to deal with these situations properly. We can't just sit back and watch as innocent kids are taken away from their families πŸ’”.

The government is doing its best, but the international community needs to step up too 🌎. These girls deserve our help and attention. The international pressure on Nigeria's security situation might be a good starting point, but we need action not just words πŸ’ͺ.

😩 this is just heartbreaking... can't believe these innocent kids are still missing πŸ€•. it's like they were taken away from their families and classmates overnight. what's going on with our world? first one school then another... when will this stop?! 🚨. i feel so helpless reading about this news, wondering if anyone is doing enough to bring these girls home safely πŸ’”. i hope security forces can find them soon... my heart goes out to the parents and students of St. Mary's School πŸ˜•.

OMG u guys 2day i cant even... these schoolgirls r still out ther n no one knows wot happend 2 them it s like they just vanished into thin air 🀯πŸŒͺ️ the government is tryin so hard 2 find them but its like they r bein held by ghost or sumthin πŸ•·οΈ its not the 1st time dis has happened in naija weve had alot of incidents w/ kidnappings n bombings & everybodi is gettin worried πŸ€” i just hop these girls r stil alive n someone find them ASAP πŸ’–
