NYC Council’s Safe Access bills ensure New Yorkers can passionately protest — without being scared to worship

🤔 I'm glad they're finally taking action on this! It's about time we find a way to balance our right to free speech with the need to protect vulnerable communities. I've seen some crazy protests in my day, but when it comes down to worship or education, that's just not acceptable.

As someone who's lived through some of the crazier times in NYC history (like the Occupy Wall Street days), I know how passionate people can get. But at what cost? We need to make sure our laws reflect our values as a society: respect for all individuals, regardless of their faith or background.

I'm intrigued by the idea of community risk assessments and public safety plans being put in place. It's not about silencing anyone; it's about creating a safe space for everyone to thrive. Let's hope these Safe Access bills become law and help us move forward as a city that's truly inclusive 🌎💕

🙏 I'm kinda glad these bills are being introduced in NYC, it's about time they prioritize people's safety over free speech. Protests are allowed, but we shouldn't have to live in fear of getting intimidated while just trying to worship or learn. The fact that law enforcement will now be assessing public safety risks transparently is a major win! 🚔 It's not like protesters are going to be silenced, they'll still be able to express themselves, but with some common sense and consideration for others. The city's always been about being loud and proud, but this time it's about finding that balance between passion and respect.
