Oklahoma prisoner's life spared moments before scheduled execution – video

A dramatic reprieve has been granted to a death row inmate in Oklahoma, sparing his life mere moments from its scheduled execution.

According to reports, prisoner Gregory Wayne Smith was set to meet his maker at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon, but an unexpected delay occurred. Witnesses claim that as the warden was about to announce the time of Smith's execution, a last-minute phone call was made from within the prison walls.

Intrigued by the circumstances surrounding this unusual turn of events, authorities began investigating the cause behind the sudden pause. An inquiry into the matter revealed that Smith had managed to contact his family via secure phone line while in solitary confinement.

The emotional reunion between Smith and his loved ones has raised questions about the efficacy of the prison's communication protocols. It is now being sought by prison reform advocates for review, as concerns are being voiced regarding issues with phone access and the potential for outside interference.

Meanwhile, an investigation into how this unexpected development unfolded remains ongoing, leaving many to wonder what exactly transpired during that fateful few minutes before the scheduled execution date.

🤯 Omg have u heard about that death row inmate in Oklahoma who was like literally set 2 b executed but then some last min phone call comes thru & it's all good lol what even is goin on here? 📞😂 so he had access 2 a secure phone line while he was in solitary confinement & managed 2 call his fam, idk how that's even possible tho. anyway, prison reform ppl r gettin all upset bcuz they're like "wait a min, how did this happen?" 🤔 and now the warden's gotta answer for it. guess we'll just have 2 wait & c what else goes down in this crazy case 😅

I mean, can you believe it? A death row inmate just got a reprieve from his own execution 🤯! On one hand, I'm super happy for Gregory Wayne Smith and his family - they must've been having a total meltdown not knowing what was happening to him. But on the other hand, this whole thing is like, super sketchy... how did he even get in touch with his loved ones? Was it really just a last-minute phone call or was there something more going on behind the scenes? 🤔 And now that they're looking into the prison's protocols, I'm guessing we'll find out some serious issues were overlooked. Still, I guess this is one case where life saved over execution... for now 😕
