just heard about this new initiative and I gotta say, while i get what mayor adams is trying to do - keep those schools safe - can't help but wonder if panic buttons are really the answer i mean, they're still gonna be triggered by people freakin out on their own, right? shouldn't we be workin' on rootin' out that stuff instead of just throwin' more gadgets at the problem like what about mental health resources and stuff for students?
I'm not surprised they're bringing back these panic buttons... it's just another Band-Aid on a bullet wound . The real question is, what else are they gonna do to fix this system? And what about accountability for the people in power who made those questionable connections with SaferWatch? I mean, come on, a pilot program got shut down because of potential conflicts of interest and we're still rolling out these buttons... it's just too convenient .
I feel bad for Terence Banks' brother David and Philip too they got dragged into this mess because of his job what's the point of having all these panic buttons if we still gonna have people do crazy stuff ? should be working on mental health instead of just adding more security measures anyway, can't argue with the intention of keeping our schools safe
