Partner pays tribute to dog walker killed in west London stabbing

Community Mourns Loss of Beloved Dog Walker

The lives of countless residents in west London were forever changed on Monday when 49-year-old dog walker Wayne Broadhurst was brutally stabbed to death. His partner, Ann Newman, has paid tribute to his selfless dedication to serving the community, describing him as a "hardworking man" who made a real contribution to those around him.

According to Newman, Broadhurst's life was tragically cut short during a completely unprovoked knife attack. Since the fundraiser was launched on Wednesday, over Β£36,000 has been raised to help pay for his funeral costs, support his relatives, and honor his memory.

Broadhurst worked for Greener Ealing, an environmental services company that operates in the Uxbridge area. His colleagues described him as a well-respected and dedicated member of the team who made a real difference to those around him.

Tragedy struck when Safi Dawood, 22, appeared in court charged with murdering Broadhurst, as well as attempting to murder his landlord, Shahzad Farrukh, and a 14-year-old boy. Dawood has been linked to Afghanistan and entered the UK claiming asylum before being granted residency in 2022.

As the community comes together to mourn the loss of Broadhurst, donations continue to pour in to support his loved ones. Newman expressed heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and generosity shown by those remembering her partner, saying: "No one ever expects to face something like this. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support as we come together to remember Wayne and celebrate the love he gave to so many."

The devastating loss of Broadhurst serves as a stark reminder of the senseless violence that can strike even in the most seemingly safe communities. As the investigation into his death unfolds, it is clear that this tragedy will have a lasting impact on those who knew him and the countless lives he touched through his work.

πŸ˜”πŸ˜’ this is so sad 😭 i just cant believe someone like wayne would get stabbed in broad daylight 🀯 like what's going on with our world right now? 🌎 it's not just about the money for the funeral, but also for the people he loved and those he helped through his work πŸ’• he was a good dude doing good things and this is how he got taken away from us 😒 the community is coming together which is amazing but it's still heartbreaking to see πŸ’” i hope safi gets the justice he deserves 🀞

Ugh, 😱 this is just horrific! I mean, I'm not gonna lie, I was already feeling kinda down about the whole climate crisis thing, but this dog walker getting stabbed to death in broad daylight? That's just 🀯 wild. Like, what even is going on with people these days? Can't we all just get along and give each other a break? πŸ’” Ann Newman's tribute to her partner Wayne Broadhurst was so sweet though, he sounds like an amazing dude who truly cared about his community ❀️. And I love how the community is coming together to raise money for his funeral and support his loved ones - that's what it's all about! πŸ™ 36k might not seem like a lot, but every little bit counts, right? πŸ’Έ

πŸ€• This is so sad... I mean, 49 years old, just walking dogs for a living, and then... it's just not fair. πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ You'd think in this day and age we should be able to walk our dogs without worrying about getting stabbed. It's like the world has gone mad. πŸ’€

I'm glad the community is coming together to support Ann and his family, but at the same time, it's just so frustrating that something like this has to happen. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ And the fact that Safi Dawood was granted residency in 2022 makes you wonder what kind of vetting process actually happened back then... 🚫

Anyway, Β£36k raised is amazing, but it's not going to bring Wayne back. What can be done to prevent these kinds of senseless attacks? πŸ€” We need more support for mental health services and something needs to be done about the people who are being radicalized and turn to violence... πŸ™

πŸ€” I'm really struggling to understand how someone could just go around stabbing people for no reason? I mean, what's going on in Safi Dawood's head that made him do this? πŸ™„ He was granted residency in 2022 and all of a sudden he's committing violent crimes? It just doesn't add up. And Β£36k raised from donations? That's amazing, but can we be sure it's not just sympathy money? What's the actual plan for the funds? Is it being used to support his relatives or is there some other ulterior motive at play? πŸ€‘ I need to see some proof before I start celebrating.

this is just so sad πŸ˜”, i mean what's going on with our community? we're trying to live in peace and Wayne gets stabbed to death just like that 🀯. it's not just about the loss of one person, it's about the impact he had on so many lives. Greener Ealing should really look into their security measures, this could have been prevented 🚫. and what's with the fact that Safi Dawood has a history of asylum claims? is that something we can address in our community? πŸ€” we need to come together and support each other more than ever πŸ’–. 36k raised so far but i'm sure there are plenty of people who can't even afford funeral costs... we need to make sure everyone is taken care of, no matter what πŸ’•

πŸ˜” This is just heartbreaking... I mean, what's the point of a life cut short like that? 🀯 I'm so glad the community is rallying around Ann & Wayne's family, it really does take a village to support each other during times like this ❀️. And I gotta say, Greener Ealing should be super proud of having someone like Wayne on their team - he was clearly making a difference πŸ’š. The fact that he got murdered in broad daylight is just ridiculous... what's going on with our society right now? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Anyway, let's all keep sending our love & support to Ann & the family πŸ‘

🌧️ Another day, another senseless murder πŸ˜”. I mean, what's the point of even leaving the house now? This dog walker guy was just trying to make a living and do some good in the community, and this is what happens πŸ™„. Β£36k raised for his funeral already... can you believe it? Meanwhile, Dawood gets to live his life without consequences πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Just great, another heartbroken family and community to deal with 😒. And the fact that he was stabbed "completely unprovoked" is just laughable πŸ’€. Like, what's the point of even having a justice system anymore? 🀯

can't believe what's been happening in our community... just 49 years old, dog walker, making a difference one walk at a time πŸ’”πŸ˜’ it's not just about the money pouring in for Wayne's family, it's about us coming together to say this senseless violence has no place here πŸ€• we need to keep an eye on each other, look out for those who might be struggling, because you never know when tragedy can strike πŸ‘Š

Wow 🀯 - Can't believe what's happening to Wayne Broadhurst! Β£36k raised in just 3 days? So much love for this man, but also super sad that his life was cut short like that πŸ˜”πŸΆ

πŸ€• I'm still trying to process the news about Wayne Broadhurst... like, what's going on in our community? One minute he's walking dogs, helping out the environment, and the next thing you know, he's stabbed to death 🚨. It's just so senseless... I mean, I've had tough days at school, but this is on a whole other level 😩. My friends are all talking about it, and we're all just trying to make sense of it... I guess that's what happens when you get involved in the community, right? 🀝

man... just reading about wayne's life & all the good stuff he did for the community its heartbreaking πŸ€• 36k raised in like a week is crazy but what can we really do to stop this senseless violence? the fact that safi dawood had an asylum claim makes me think about all the people stuck in limbo & not getting the help they need 🌫️

Man that's such a shame πŸ€•πŸΆ Wayne Broadhurst was literally doing his job just like any other day and then BAM, someone comes out of nowhere and attacks him for no reason... it's just not right 😑. The community is really coming together to support Ann and the family though, which is super heartwarming ❀️. Greener Ealing should also be getting some credit for how they're handling everything 🀝. And wow, Β£36k in just a few days? That's insane! They must have done something right with their fundraiser πŸ€‘
