I gotta say, this is a whole thing ... The Pentagon thinks they can just sever ties with Harvard because it's "woke"? Like, isn't that kinda the point of a university, to explore different perspectives and ideologies? It sounds like they're trying to impose their own values on others, which is, like, super not how academia works . And what's next, are they gonna start censoring people at universities because they don't agree with them? That'd be, like, super problematic ...
I'm not sure why they're making a big deal about this, like Harvard's always been about pushing boundaries and challenging people's perspectives . They should be welcoming diverse ideas and encouraging students to think for themselves, not cutting ties with them because of "woke" culture . What's next? Cutting off universities that study climate change or nuclear physics? It just seems like they're more worried about appearances than actual issues . And let's be real, academic freedom is basically a fundamental right at this point ...
omg u guys this is like something straight outta a movie lol imagine if the government was trying to control what ppl think in schools it's like, major red flag! i get where harvard is tryin to promote diversity and all that but severing ties with them? that's just extreme. i feel like this is exactly what the gov't should be worried about - educate people not indoctrinate 'em . btw have u seen that movie "Mr Robot"? it's all about ppl fightin against gov't control & manipulation... kinda feels like we're in a real-life episode of that show rn
omg I dont get why they cant just have different views like isnt that what uni is all about? I mean I was thinking of studying business but then I started reading about sociology and now im not so sure lol its like my brain gets mixed up and btw does anyone know if they can still do internships with Harvard after this decision ?
i think this decision is super concerning lol . like, what even is a "woke" culture? isn't that just code for people being open-minded and accepting of others? shouldn't we be supporting those kinds of values instead of trying to squash them? and what's next? are they gonna start censoring books or something?
I feel like this decision by the Pentagon is super concerning, its like they're trying to dictate what people can think on campus . I mean, don't get me wrong, we need to have respectful conversations about issues that matter, but shouldn't that be left up to the students themselves? It sounds like the Pentagon is getting a bit too involved in shaping the culture of these universities...
They're basically saying that certain ideas are off-limits, which can stifle creativity and free thinking . I'm all for diversity and inclusion, but shouldn't those values be celebrated, not suppressed? It's like they're trying to create a bubble where everyone thinks the same way .
I'd love to hear more from both sides of the argument, what are your thoughts on this?
