A brazen break-in at a veterinary hospital in Brentwood on Saturday has left the community reeling, with thieves making off with specially made bags containing urns holding pet ashes. The brazen heist occurred around 8:10am, when police received reports of a possible burglary.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one of the hospital's glass doors had been shattered, but no staff members were present at the scene. A review of surveillance footage revealed two masked individuals who broke into the premises shortly after 6am. The suspects attempted to gain access to the cash register but were unsuccessful in their efforts.
The most disturbing aspect of the incident was when the thieves took the specially made bags containing urns with pet ashes, leaving many animals without the chance to be reunited with their beloved owners. According to police, the individuals exited the premises through the same shattered door they had used to gain entry.

. Like, what's the point of having those urns if they're just gonna steal 'em? I mean, I know some people might think it's weird to keep pet ashes in a special bag, but it's still a way for owners to remember their pets right? Now we got people who are probably left with nothing but memories and a broken heart 
. And what really gets me is that the thieves didn't even try to sell the urns or anything - they just took 'em and ran

this is just so messed up... can't believe those thieves would steal urns like that

i cant even imagine how traumatic it must be for pet owners who have their fur babies' ashes in those special bags and now its been stolen from them its like someone took away a piece of your heart the whole thing just feels so senseless and thoughtless

this is just so heartbreaking... I mean, what's even the point of stealing urns with pet ashes from a vet hospital? Like, can't you just get help for your own issues instead of taking something that doesn't belong to you in the first place? It's not like those urns are worth anything except for the love and memories they hold. And now all these innocent animals are left without their owners' final goodbyes... it's just too much

When you're at the vet's office getting your shots, and they ask if you want a "comfort item" – like a stuffed animal or something. But then they always seem to lose them in the back room... I swear, it's like they just disappear into thin air

i cant even imagine losing my pet like that i know how much people care about their pets and its just not right that these thieves took advantage of that and got away with it hopefully the police catch them soon and bring justice to all the affected families
